(Acetyl-acetonato-?O,O')-aqua-[salicyl-aldehyde nicotinoylhydrazonato(2-)-?O,N,O']manganese(III).

ABSTRACT: The Mn(III) atom in the title complex, [Mn(C(13)H(9)N(3)O(2))(C(5)H(7)O(2))(H(2)O)], is coordinated by three donors from a dianionic ligand, salicylaldehyde nicotylhydrazone, two O atoms from an acetyl-acetonate anion and a water mol-ecule in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. There is an extended two-dimensional supra-molecular motif resulting from O-H?N hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecule and a hydrazine N or pyridine N atom, and from C-H?O hydrogen bonds between a CH group and the phenolate O atom.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ir(C(5)H(7)O(2))(3)(H(2)O)], the Ir(III) atom is six-coordinated and situated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. The complex contains both Ir-O and Ir-C bonds and was isolated from a reaction mixture of IrCl(3)(H(2)O)(x), pentane-2,5-dione and NaHCO(3). O-H?O hydrogen bonding between the water molecules and the carbonyl O atoms of adjacent molecules leads to a layered motif extending parallel to (010).

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(C(15)H(11)N(3)O(5))(C(5)H(7)O(2))(H(2)O)], the Mn(III) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. It is coordinated by a phen-oxy O atom, a hydrazine N atom and a carbonyl O atom of the 2-(2-nitro-phen-oxy)-N'-(2-oxidobenzyl-idene-?O)acetohydrazidate dianion, by two O atoms of the acetyl-acetonate anion and by the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimeric units through four inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving both H atoms of the coordinated water mol-ecule.

Project description:In the title compound, [Nb(CH(3)O)(3)(C(5)H(7)O(2))Cl], the Nb(V) atom is coordinated by two O atoms from the chelating acetyl-acetonate ligand, three O atoms from the methano-late groups and one chloride ligand. The octa-hedral environment around niobium is slightly distorted with Nb-O distances in the range 1.8603 (15)-2.1083 (15) Å and an Nb-Cl distance of 2.4693 (9) Å. The O-Nb-O angles vary between 80.74 (6) and 100.82 (7)°, while the trans Cl-Nb-O angle is 167.60 (5)°. There are no hydrogen bonds observed, only an inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action.

Project description:The mononuclear title complex, [Fe(CF3O3S)(C5H7O2)2(C4H8O)] or [Fe(acac)2(OTf)(THF)] (acac = acetyl-acetonate; OTf = tri-fluoro-methane-sulfon-ate; THF = tetrahydrofuran), (I), consists of one six-coordinate Fe(3+) atom in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment [Fe-O bond-length range = 1.9517 (11)-2.0781 (11) Å]. The triflate ligand was found to be disordered over two sets of sites, with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.622 (16):0.378 (16). Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions generate a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure lying parallel to (100). This is only the second crystal structure reported of a mononuclear bis-(acetyl-acetonato)iron(III) complex.

Project description:The title compound, [Yb(C(5)HF(6)O(2))(2)(C(20)H(14)N(4))(H(2)O)]Cl·CH(3)OH·H(2)O, adopts an eight-coordinated geometry around the Yb(III) atom consisting of a 4'-(4-pyrid-yl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (pytpy) ligand, two 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexa-fluoro-acetyl-acetonate (hfac) anions and an aqua ligand. In the solid state, the compound forms supra-molecular chains running along the b-axis via inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the Yb-OH(2) unit and the N-atom donor of the 4-pyridyl pendant of pytpy, with an O?N distance of 2.686?(4)?Å. A chloride counter-anion and lattice methanol and water solvent mol-ecules occupy a hydro-philic columnar space along the coordination chains. O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds occur. The two water molecules and the four trifluoromethyl groups are disordered over two sets of sites, each with different occupancy ratios.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(C5H7O2)2(NCS)(C5H5N)], the Mn(3+) cation is coordin-ated by two acetyl-acetonate anions, one terminal thio-cyanate anion and one pyridine ligand within a slightly distorted octa-hedron. The asymmetric unit consists of half a complex mol-ecule with the Mn(3+) cation, the thio-cyanate anion and the pyridine ligand located on a mirror plane. The acetyl-acetonate anion is in a general position. The title compound was previously described [Stults et al. (1975 ▶). Inorg. Chem. 14, 722-730] but could only be obtained as a powder. Suitable crystals have now been obtained for a high-precision single-crystal structure determination.

Project description:The title dimeric complex, [Eu(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(6)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], is centrosymmetric, implying that pairs of equivalent Eu(3+) ions and ligands lie trans to each other and that the two Eu(3+) ions have exactly the same coordination environment. Each Eu(3+) ion is nine-coordinated by two bidentate benzoate ligands, two bridging tridentate chelating benzoate ligands, and one dimethylformamide and one water molecule. The coordination polyhedron of each Eu(3+) ion can be described with a distorted monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and benzoate O atoms.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(C5H7O2)2(C12H8N2)], the Mn(2+) cation is coordinated by one bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two acetyl-acetonate anions within a slightly distorted N2O4 octa-hedron. The asymmetric unit consists of one Mn(2+) cation situated on a twofold rotation axis, one half of a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and one acetyl-acetonate anion. In comparison with the previous determination based on visually estimated intensities recorded on precession photographs, the current redetermination with image-plate data reveals bond lengths and angles with much higher precision.

Project description:The Mn(II) ion in the title compound, [Mn(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(C(18)H(12)N(6))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, is seven-coordinated in an approximately penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry by three N atoms of the tridentate 2,4,6-tri-2-pyridyl-1,3,5-triazine ligand and four O atoms from two distinct anionic acetato ligands and a water mol-ecule. One acetate anion chelates the Mn atom via two O atoms occupying equatorial positions, and the other anion coordinates the Mn atom as a monodentate ligand via one O atom. The complex and solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter- and intra-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
