ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(5)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)], the metal atom has square-pyramidal coordination geometry with the basal plane defined by the four O atoms of the chelating acetyl-acetonate ligands and with the axial position occupied by the pyridine N atom. The crystal packing is characterized by a C-H?O hydrogen-bonded ribbon structure approximately parallel to [10[Formula: see text]].

The Ni(II) ion of each unique complex mol-ecule lies on an inversion centre and has an octa-hedral coordination geometry. The crystal structure features weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which form chains running parallel to the a axis.

Project description:The title material, [Zn(C(5)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(9)H(9)NO)], was synthesized by the treatment of bis-(acetyl-acetonato)zinc(II) monohydrate with 2-phenyl-2-oxazoline. The Zn atom is coordinated by two chelating acetyl-acetonate groups and one oxazoline ligand in the apical position of a slightly distorted square-pyramidal metal-ligand geometry.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(0.31)Ni(0.69)(C(5)H(7)O(2))(2)], was isolated from the reaction of bis-(N,N-dimethyamino-ethanol)copper(II) with bis-(acetyl-acetonato)nickel(II), which yielded crystals with mixed sites at the central metal position; the refined copper-nickel occupancy ratio is 0.31?(4):0.69?(4). Two acetyl-acetonate ligands, related by a centre of symmetry, are coordinated to the central metal atom in a square-planar configuration while the methyne C atoms of the acetyl-acetonate ligands, ca 3.02?Å away, are orthogonal to this plane at the metal site.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(NCSe)(2)(C(7)H(7)NO)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Co(2+) cation is coordinated by two seleno-cyanate anions, two 3-acetyl-pyridine ligands and two water mol-ecules within a slightly distorted CoN(4)O(2) octa-hedron. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(C5H7O2)2(C12H8N2)], the Mn(2+) cation is coordinated by one bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two acetyl-acetonate anions within a slightly distorted N2O4 octa-hedron. The asymmetric unit consists of one Mn(2+) cation situated on a twofold rotation axis, one half of a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and one acetyl-acetonate anion. In comparison with the previous determination based on visually estimated intensities recorded on precession photographs, the current redetermination with image-plate data reveals bond lengths and angles with much higher precision.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(7)O(2))(C(2)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry with two acetyl-acetonate O and two phenanthroline N atoms forming the base. The apical position is occupied by the central N atom of the dicyanamide ligand. The dicyanamide N atoms are each involved in hydrogen bonds to water mol-ecules. There are also hydrogen bonds between both the water mol-ecules and their centrosymmetric pairs, creating a hydrogen-bonded chain along the b-axis direction.

Project description:The central part of the title centrosymmetric dinuclear complex, [Zn(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(4)(C(9)H(12)N(2))(2)], has a paddle-wheel conformation with four benzoate ligands bridging two symmetry-related Zn(II) ions. The distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment around the Zn(II) ion is completed by an N atom from a 4-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)pyridine ligand. The Zn?Zn separation of 2.9826?(12)?Å does not represent a formal direct metal-metal bond. The Zn(II) ion is displaced by 0.381?(1)?Å from the mean plane of the four basal O atoms. Two of the C atoms of the pyrrolidine ring are disordered over two sites with refined occupancies of 0.53?(2) and 0.47?(2).

In both mol-ecules, the central Cu atom (site symmetry ) adopts a distorted trans-CuO(2)N(4) octa-hedral geometry, arising from its coordination by two N,O-bidentate aroylhydrazine ligands and two pyridine mol-ecules. The peripheral Cu atoms adopt trans-CuN(2)O(2) square-planar coordinations arising from an N,O,O-tri-dentate ligand (that also bonds to the central Cu atom) and a pyridine mol-ecule.
