Bis(acetyl-acetonato-?O,O')-aqua-(diacetyl-methanido-?C)iridium(III).

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ir(C(5)H(7)O(2))(3)(H(2)O)], the Ir(III) atom is six-coordinated and situated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. The complex contains both Ir-O and Ir-C bonds and was isolated from a reaction mixture of IrCl(3)(H(2)O)(x), pentane-2,5-dione and NaHCO(3). O-H?O hydrogen bonding between the water molecules and the carbonyl O atoms of adjacent molecules leads to a layered motif extending parallel to (010).

Project description:In the title complex, [Ir(C(17)H(13)N(2))(2)(C(5)H(7)O(2))], the Ir(III) atom is hexa-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by two C,N-bidentate 2-(5-methyl-3-phenyl-pyrazin-2-yl)phenyl (mdpp) ligands and one O,O-bidentate acetyl-acetonate ligand. The dihedral angles between the phenyl rings and the pyrazine ring are 9.56?(14) and 58.99?(14)° for one mdpp ligand and 9.34?(14) and 79.94?(15)° for the other.

Project description:The title compound, [Yb(C(5)HF(6)O(2))(2)(C(20)H(14)N(4))(H(2)O)]Cl·CH(3)OH·H(2)O, adopts an eight-coordinated geometry around the Yb(III) atom consisting of a 4'-(4-pyrid-yl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (pytpy) ligand, two 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexa-fluoro-acetyl-acetonate (hfac) anions and an aqua ligand. In the solid state, the compound forms supra-molecular chains running along the b-axis via inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the Yb-OH(2) unit and the N-atom donor of the 4-pyridyl pendant of pytpy, with an O?N distance of 2.686?(4)?Å. A chloride counter-anion and lattice methanol and water solvent mol-ecules occupy a hydro-philic columnar space along the coordination chains. O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds occur. The two water molecules and the four trifluoromethyl groups are disordered over two sets of sites, each with different occupancy ratios.

Project description:The dinuclear title complex, [Co2(C5H7O2)4(μ-OH)2] or [Co(acac)2(μ-OH)]2, where acac is acetyl-acetonate, is centrosymmetric with half of the mol-ecule per asymmetric unit. The mol-ecular structure is a dimer of octa-hedrally coordinated Co(III) atoms with four O atoms from two chelating acac ligands and two O atoms from bridging hydroxide ligands. The crystal packing features weak C-H⋯O inter-actions between neighboring mol-ecules, leading to the formation of chains normal to the ac plane. The hydroxide H atoms are not involved in hydrogen bonding because of the bulky acac ligands. This is the first crystal structure reported of a dimeric transition metal bis-acac complex with OH(-) as the bridging group.
