Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(16)N(6)·2CH(3)OH, was prepared by the reaction of 5,5'-bis-(bromo-meth-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine with imidazole. The main mol-ecule lies on an inversion center located at the mid-point of the C-C bond joining the two pyridine rings. The asymmetric unit therefore contains one half-mol-ecule and one methanol solvent mol-ecule. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and imidazole rings is 72.32 (5)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular O-H⋯N, C-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds contribute to the stabilization of the packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pt(CH(3))(3)I(C(12)H(12)N(2))], the Pt(IV) atom is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral configuration with one CH(3) group and the I atom forming a near perpendicular axis relative to the square plane formed by the bipyridine ligand and the two remaining CH(3) groups. The CH(3) group trans to the I atom has a slightly elongated bond to Pt compared to the other CH(3) groups, indicating a difference in trans influence between iodine and the bipyridine ligand.

Project description:The title complex, [Cd(C(2)HN(9))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·0.5C(10)H(8)N(2)·H(2)O, was prepared under hydro-thermal reaction conditions. The asymmetric unit contains the cadmium complex, half a 2,2'-bipyridine solvent mol-ecule and a solvent water mol-ecule. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two N atoms from an HBTA(-) anion ligand [where H(2)BTA is N,N-bis-(1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)amine], forming an octa-hedral geometry. The complex is linked into a three-dimensional network by O-H?N and N-H?N hydrogen bonds and by the stacking inter-actions of rings, with distances of 3.5-3.7?Å between the atoms of two parallel 2,2'-bipyridine rings.

Project description:The title compound, C(30)H(28)N(2)S(16), is a precursor to hybrid magnetic materials. The complete molecule is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. In the crystal structure, the TTF core is not planar and adopts a chair conformation; the two C(3)S(2) rings are folded around the S?S hinges, the dihedral angles being 17.14?(8) and 13.46?(7)°. There is a short S?S contact [3.4863? (14)?Å] in the crystal structure.
