ABSTRACT: In the title three-dimensional coordination polymer, {[Fe(C(8)H(5)NO(4))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Fe(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral geometry, being coordinated by one N and four O atoms from four 5-amino-isophthalate ligands and one water mol-ecule. In addition, the crystal structure is stabilized by numerous O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title heteronuclear complex, {[AgHo(C(14)H(8)N(2)O(5))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), has a three-dimensional polymeric structure, generated by the carboxyl-ate and pyridine groups of the 5-(isonicotinamido)-isophthalate (INAIP) ligands bridging the metal atoms. The Ho(III) atom is coordinated by seven O atoms from INAIP ligands and a water mol-ecule in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry, while the Ag(I) atom has a distorted trigonal-planar AgN(2)O geometry. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), there are two symmetry-independent one-dimensional coordination polymers, which are approximately related by noncrystallographic inversion symmetry. Each zigzag chain is constructed from one Co(II) ion, one O-monodentate 5-nitro-isophthalate (ndc) dianion, one N,N'-bidentate 2,2'-bipyridyl ligand and one water mol-ecule. A symmetry-generated O,O'-bidentate ndc dianion completes the cobalt coordination environment, which could be described as very distorted cis-CoN(2)O(4) octa-hedral. The bridging ndc ligands result in parallel chains running along the a direction, and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds arising from the water mol-ecules complete the structure.

These chains are connected into undulating [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)(3-bpmp)](n) [3-bmp is bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)piperazine] layers by 3-bpmp tethering ligands. The pseudo three-dimensional structure of the title compound is fostered by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and unligated isophthalate O atoms. The selected crystal was non-merohedrally twinned. Only reflections from the major twin component were used in the solution and refinement.

Within the polymers, the Cu(II )atoms, coordinated by the water mol-ecule and the chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands, are bridged by 5-nitro-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate dianions which act as tridentate ligands; the carboxyl-ate groups exhibit monodentate and symmetric bidentate coordination modes. The Cu(II) atoms show a strongly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal structure, the two symmetry-independent coordination polymers form another one-dimensional polymeric structure via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between coordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups.

It has a one-dimensional polymeric chain structure and the chains are further connected into a three-dimensional structure by hydrogen bonds. The Fe(II) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment, with two N and two O atoms from the pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligands in the equatorial plane and with two water mol-ecules in axial positions. The Fe atom lies on a crystallographic centre of symmetry and a twofold rotation axis passes through the pyrazine ring.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(3)BrO(4))(C(5)H(5)N)(3)], is the first structurally characterized complex with a transition metal coordinated by a 5-bromo-isophthalate anion. The Ni(II) ion is coordinated by three O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups and three N atoms from three pyridine ligands in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The 5-bromo-isophthalate anion is planar within 0.057 (2) Å. The two carboxyl-ate groups of the ligand coordinate the Ni(II) ions in a chelating and monodentate mode, linking the metal atoms into infinite chains along the [010] direction. These chains are stacked together via strong π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance 3.601 (4) Å], forming a three-dimensional motif.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, {[Mn(C(11)H(14)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O}(n), the two independent Mn(II) atoms are located on a centre of symmetry and coordinated by two 4-(diethyl-amino)benzoate (DEAB) anions and two water mol-ecules in the basal plane while another water mol-ecule bridges the Mn atoms in the apical directions, forming polymeric chains. The dihedral angles between the carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 11.33?(13) and 10.90?(9)° and the benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 67.88?(6)°. The uncoordinated water mol-ecules link the carboxyl-ate groups and coordinated water mol-ecules via O-H?O hydrogen bonding. Weak C-H?? inter-actions are also found in the crystal structure.
