ABSTRACT: The title heteronuclear complex, {[AgHo(C(14)H(8)N(2)O(5))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), has a three-dimensional polymeric structure, generated by the carboxyl-ate and pyridine groups of the 5-(isonicotinamido)-isophthalate (INAIP) ligands bridging the metal atoms. The Ho(III) atom is coordinated by seven O atoms from INAIP ligands and a water mol-ecule in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry, while the Ag(I) atom has a distorted trigonal-planar AgN(2)O geometry. Inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The 4d-4f heteronuclear title complex, [AgCe(C(14)H(8)N(2)O(5))(2)(H(2)O)](n), has a three-dimensional framework structure, generated by the carboxyl-ate and pyridyl groups of the 5-(isonicotinamido)-isophthalate (INAIP) ligands bridging the metal ions. The Ce(III) atom is coordinated by eight O atoms from six INAIP ligands and a water mol-ecule in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, while the Ag(I) atom has a distorted trigonal-planar AgN(2)O geometry. O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.642?(4) and 3.624?(3)?Å] stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The title complex, [Dy(C(8)H(6)NO(4))(C(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), is a dysprosium coordination polymer with mixed anions and was obtained under hydrothermal conditions. In the structure, the oxalate and 5-amino-isophthalate ligands link the dysprosium ions, building up a two-dimensional metal-organic framework parallel to the (10) plane. These sheets are further connected through O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

The 2-oxidopyridin-ium-3-carboxylate and oxalate ligands link the Ho(III) ions into a layer in (100). These layers are further connected by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated water mol-ecules to assemble a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The uncoordin-ated water mol-ecule is involved in N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds within the layer.

Project description:In the title three-dimensional heterometallic complex, {[AgHo(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(H(2)O)]ClO(4)}(n), the Ho(III) ion is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four different isonicotinate ligands, three O atoms from two different acetate ligands and one O atom of a water mol-ecule. The two-coordinate Ag(I) ion is bonded to two N atoms from two different isonicotinate anions. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging isonicotinate and acetate ligands, generating a three-dimensional network. The coordinated water mol-ecules link the carboxyl-ate group of the acetate ligand and the nitrate ligand by O-H?O hydrogen bonding. The crystal structure is further stabilized by hydrogen bonds. The perchlorate ion is disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors 0.539?(12) and 0.461?(12), while the methyl group of the acetate ligand is disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors 0.51?(4) and 0.49?(4).

Project description:The title compound, {[Nd(2)(C(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), was synthesized hydro-thermally in the presence of bis-(carb-oxy-ethyl-germanium) sesquioxide. It is isostructural with the corresponding Pr compound [Yang et al. (2009). Acta Cryst. E65, m1152-m1153]. The Nd(3+) cation is nine-coordinated and its coordination polyhedron can be described as a distorted tricapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(3+) ions are connected by two O atoms from two oxalate ions to give a dinuclear Nd(2) unit. The unit is further linked to four others via four oxalate ions yielding a layerparallel to (0-11). The linkages between the layers by neighbouring oxalate anions lead to a three-dimensional framework with channels along the c axis. The coordinating and free water mol-ecules are located in the channels and make contact with each other and the host framework by weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Ho(4)(C(12)H(6)O(4))(6)(H(2)O)(5)]·1.75H(2)O}(n), which is isostructural with its Tb(3+)- and Eu(3+)-containing analogues, there are four crystallographically independent Ho(3+) centres, each exhibiting a highly distorted HoO(8) bicapped trigonal-prismatic coordination environment. Adjacent polyhedra are inter-connected via the carboxyl-ate groups and one μ(2)-bridging water mol-ecule, forming one-dimensional chains propagating along [100]. The naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylate ligands further inter-connect these chains into a three-dimensional framework, which has zigzag channels housing the water mol-ecules. Two naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylate bridging ligands have their centroids located on crystallographic centres of inversion. One water O atom has a fixed site occupancy factor of 0.75.

Project description:In the title compound, {[NiTb2(C14H8N2O5)4(H2O)4]·4H2O} n , the Tb(III) ion is coordinated by one water mol-ecule and seven O atoms from four 5-(pyridine-4-carboxamido)-isophthalate (L) ligands in a distorted square-anti-prismatic arrangement, while the Ni(II) ion, lying on an inversion center, is six-coordinated in an octa-hedral geometry by two pyridine N atoms, two carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules. One L ligand bridges two Tb(III) ions and one Ni(II) ion through two carboxyl-ate groups and one pyridine N atom. The other L ligand bridges two Tb(III) ions and one Ni(II) ion through two carboxyl-ate groups, while the uncoordinating pyridine N atom is hydrogen bonded to an adjacent coordinating water mol-ecule. Extensive O-H?O, N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds play an important role in stabilizing the crystal structure.
