ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (H(3)O)[LaCl(2)(C(2)H(5)N(3)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]Cl(2)·2H(2)O, the La atom is bonded to seven O atoms (arising from two O,O'-bidentate biuret mol-ecules and three water mol-ecules) and two chloride ions in an irregular arrangement. A network of N-H?O, N-H?Cl, O-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds helps to establish the packing, leading to a three-dimensional network. The La atom, one Cl atom and four O atoms lie on a crystallographic mirror plane.

Project description:The title dinuclear compound, [Tb(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(6)(H(2)O)(6)]·10H(2)O, lies on a center of inversion and the two Tb(III) atoms are bridged by two 4-hydroxy-benzoate anions; each metal atom is further coordinated by one monodentate anion and chelated by the third anion. The eight-coordinate geometry approximates a square anti-prism. Hydrogen bonds of the O-H⋯O type connect the uncoordinated water mol-ecules to the dinuclear species, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, K[Co(CO(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·2H(2)O, the Co(III) atom is coordinated by two bipyridine N atoms and four O atoms from two bidentate chelating carbonate anions, and thus adopts a distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) environment. The [Co(bipy)(CO(3))(2)](-) (bipy is 2,2'-bipyridine) -units are stacked along [100] via π-π stacking inter-actions, with inter-planar distances between the bipyridine rings of 3.36 (4) and 3.44 (6) Å, forming chains. Classical O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the chains, forming channels along (100) in which the K(+) ions reside and leading to a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(2)(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(2))(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, was synthesized by the reaction between manganese(II) benzoate and the Schiff base generated in situ by the condensation of ethane-1,2-diamine and o-hydroxy-aceto-phen-one. The Jahn-Teller-distorted manganese(III) ions of the centrosymmetric dimer are connected through phen-oxy bridges. Hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the uncoord-in-ated C=O of the benzoate and uncoordinated water mol-ecules link the dimers into a chain running parallel to the c axis.

Project description:In the title polymer, {[La(2)(C(4)H(4)O(6))(3)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O}(n), two symmetry-independent La(III) ions are nine-coordinated and display a distorted monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. One is coordinated by seven O atoms from four tartrate ligands and two water mol-ecules, the other by eight O atoms from five tartrate ligands and one water mol-ecule. The three tartrate ligands in the asymmetric unit act identically as μ(5)-ligands, which link lanthanum centres to form a three-dimensional coordination framework. An extensive network of hydrogen bonds is observed in the crystal structure, involving two uncoordinated water mol-ecules, one of which is disordered over two positions, with occupancies of 0.550 (13) and 0.450 (13).

Three sulfate anions bridge two In(III) cations, forming the dinuclear entities. O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure. The crystal structure is further consolidated by π-π stacking between nearly parallel phen ring systems [dihedral angle = 4.2 (4)°], the centroid-centroid distance between benzene rings of adjacent phen ligands being 3.528 (9) Å.

Project description:The title compound, {[Nd(2)(CH(2)CHCOO)(6)(H(2)O)(3)]·3H(2)O}(n), was synthesized by hydro-thermal methods. The structure contains one-dimensional coordination polymers in which two distinct Nd(III) atoms show different coordination modes. One is coordinated by four bidentate acrylate ligands, two of which bridge Nd(III) atoms, and by two O atoms from a further two bridging acrylate ligands. The other Nd(III) atom is coordinated by two bidentate acrylate ligands, two O atoms from bridging acrylate ligands, and three water mol-ecules. Extensive hydrogen bonding between the coordinated and uncoordin-ated water mol-ecules and the O atoms of the acrylate ligands link the coordination polymers into a three-dimensional network.
