ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Hg(2)I(4)(C(26)H(20)FOP)(2)], the Hg(II) centre is four-coordinate with one short Hg-I bond [2.6895?(7)?Å], one Hg-C bond and two asymmetric bridging Hg-I bonds with distances of 2.7780?(8) and 3.2599?(8)?Å. The title mol-ecule has a crystallographic inversion centre at the centroid of the four-membered ring formed by the two Hg atoms and two I atoms. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(45)H(27)P, was obtained as a product of the reaction of triphenyl-methyl-enephospho-rane with one molar equivalent of 1,4-diphenyl-butadiyne in toluene. The compound was very stable under ambient conditions, but rapidly decomposed in solution when exposed to the air. The P atom is tetra-coordinated in an approximately tetrahedral geometry. The length of the C C triple bond [1.206?(2)?Å] is in the normal range.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(24)H(20)P)(2)[Te(2)I(6)], is composed of discrete PPh(4) (+) cations and centrosymmetric [Te(2)I(6)](2-) anions. The tellurium(II) atom shows a sligthly distorted square-planar TeI(4) geometry and is coordinated to two bridging and two terminal iodine atoms. The planar [Te(2)I(6)](2-) ions are isolated by the cations and no inter-molecular tellurium-halogen or halogen-halogen inter-actions are present.

There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. Project description:In the title organometallic polymer, [HgCl(2)(C(26)H(20)NO(3)P)](n), the monodentate 1-(3-nitro-phen-yl)-2-(triphenyl-phospho-ran-yl--idene)ethanone ligand is coordinated to the Hg(II) atom through the methine C atom. The Hg(II) atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by one terminal Cl atom, two bridging Cl atoms, and one C atom from the ylidic ligand, resulting in a polymeric chain parallel to [010]. The terminal Cl atom is more strongly bound to the Hg(II) ion [2.3916 (9) Å] than the bridging Cl atoms. The bridge is asymmetric, as indicated by the two different Hg-Cl(bridging) bond lengths [2.5840 (8) and 2.7876 (8) Å]. Intra-molecular C-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯Cl contacts stabilize the polymeric chain. In the crystal, adjacent chains inter-act via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The isostructural title compounds, {(C7H7N2)2[SnI4]} n , (1), and {(C7H5F2N2)2[SnI4]} n , (2), show a layered perovskite-type structure composed of anionic {[SnI4](2-)} n sheets parallel to (100), which are decorated on both sides with templating benzimidazolium or 5,6-di-fluoro-benzimidazolium cations, respectively. These planar organic heterocycles mainly form N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds to the terminal I atoms of the corner-sharing [SnI6] octa-hedra (point group symmetry 2) from the inorganic layer, but not to the bridging ones. This is in contrast to most of the reported structures of related compounds where ammonium cations are involved. Here hydrogen bonding to both types of iodine atoms and thereby a distortion of the inorganic layers to various extents is observed. For (1) and (2), all Sn-I-Sn angles are linear and no out-of-plane distortions of the inorganic layers occur, a fact of relevance in view of the material properties. The arrangement of the aromatic cations is mainly determined through the direction of the N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds. The coherence between organic bilayers along [100] is mainly achieved through van der Waals inter-actions.
