Cis-Dichloridobis[2-(hydroxy-meth-yl)tetra-hydro-furan-?O,O']manganese(II).

ABSTRACT: The structure of the title compound, [MnCl(2)(C(5)H(10)O(2))(2)], was solved from low-temperature data collected at 100?(2)?K. The asymmetric unit contains one half-mol-ecule with the Mn(II) ion located on a twofold axis. A distorted octa-hedral environment around the Mn atom is formed by two ether and two hydroxyl O atoms of two 2-(hydroxy-methyl)tetra-hydro-furan ligands, and by two chloride ions. The chelating tetra-hydro-furan ligands, which form five-membered rings, are cis oriented. The crystal structure is stabilized by hydrogen bonding between the coordinated OH groups and the chloride ions.

Project description:The title compound, {Al[O-2,6-(Ph2CH)2-4- t BuC6H2]Et2(THF)} or [Al(C2H5)2(C36H33O)(C4H8O)], was formed in the reaction between 4-tert-butyl-2,6-bis-(di-phenyl-meth-yl)phenol and tri-ethyl-aluminum in the presence of THF (THF is tetra-hydro-furan) and recrystallized from hexane. The structure has monoclinic (P21/n) symmetry with a single Al atom in the asymmetric unit. The terminal C atom of one ethyl substituent is nearly equally disordered over two positions. The complex possesses catalytic activity in the ring-opening polymerization of ∊-caprolactone.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear complex of the title solvate, [Sm(2)(C(21)H(15)N(2)O(3))(2)(C(4)H(8)O)(2)]·2C(4)H(8)O, the Sm(III) is coordin-ated in a distorted monocapped octa-hedral geometry by four O atoms and two N atoms from two tridentate deprotonated 2-{bis-[(2-oxidobenzyl-idene)amino]-meth-yl}phenolate ligands and an O atom of a tetra-hydro-furan (THF) mol-ecule. The Sm?Sm distance in the complex is 3.8057?(4)?Å. Parts of the coordinating THF mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.56?(3):0.44?(3) ratio. The complex and solvent mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional structure via C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(20)N(2)O(2)S, is an enanti-omerically pure heterocycle-substituted thio-urea synthesized under solvent-free conditions. The thio-urea unit adopts a ZZ conformation, with the HN-(C=S)-NH core almost planar and the tetra-hydro-furfuryl groups placed below and above this plane. The whole mol-ecule thus approximates to noncrystallographic C(2) symmetry. Unexpectedly, the C=S group is not involved in inter-molecular hydrogen bonding, as generally observed in homodisubstituted thioureas. Instead, mol-ecules form a one-dimensional network based on weak N-H⋯O(heterocycle) hydrogen bonding, resulting in a zigzag ribbon-like structure around the crystallographic 2(1) screw axis along [100].

Project description:The title complex, [Li4(C17H14N4)2(C4H8O)4], bears a novel tetra-dentate di-amido ligand. In the tetra-nuclear centrosymmetric complex mol-ecule, the metal atoms exhibit two kinds of coordination modes. The middle two Li(+) cations are coord-inated by four N (ligand) and one O (tetra-hydro-furan, THF) atoms, resulting in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The outer two Li(+) cations are in distorted tetra-hedral environments consisting of three N (ligand) and one O (THF) atoms. The Li-N bond lengths vary from 2.020 (7) to 2.441 (6)Å.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mo(2)(C(7)F(5)O(2))(4)(C(4)H(8)O)(2)], two independent half-mol-ecules are present, which are completed by a crystallographically imposed center of inversion between the individual Mo atoms. In each mol-ecule, four penta-fluoro-benzoate anions bridge the quadruply bonded Mo(2) (4+) unit that is, in addition, axially coordinated by two O atoms of tetra-hydro-furan (THF) mol-ecules. In the two independent mol-ecules, the mean Mo-Mo bond length is 2.110 Å. Since the THF mol-ecules are equally disordered over two sets of sites, there are four different Mo-O distances in both half-mol-ecules with an overall mean of 2.542 Å. A zigzag chain is formed by π-π stacking inter-actions between penta-fluoro-phenyl rings, indicated by a centroid-centroid distance of 3.7054 (11) Å and a centroid-to-plane distance of 3.4169 (3) Å. The extension of the unit gives a three-dimensional network structure with the THF mol-ecules located in the voids.

Project description:The title chain polymer compound, [GaLi(2)Br(C(3)H(9)OSi)(4)(C(4)H(8)O)(2)](n), was obtained in the reaction of GaBr(3) with Me(3)SiOLi in toluene/tetra-hydro-furan. The Ga(III) atom, located on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by four trimethyl-silanolate ligands and has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The Li(I) atom is four coordinated by one bridging Br atom located on an inversion centre, two trimethyl-silanolate ligands and one tetra-hydro-furane mol-ecule in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The polymeric chains extend along [001]. The tetra-hydro-furane mol-ecule is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.57 (2) and 0.43 (2).

Project description:In the title compound, [U(C(4)F(9)O(3)S)O(2)(C(4)H(8)O)(3)], each U(VI) ion is located on a twofold rotation axis and is seven-coordinated by two terminal O atoms in the axial positions [U-O = 1.737 (5) Å] and five O atoms from two monodentate nona-fluoro-butane-sulfonate (NfO(-)) and three tetra-hydro-furan ligands in the equatorial plane [U-O = 2.388 (5)-2.411 (4) Å] in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. The crystal packing exhibits weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the non-coordinated O atoms of the NfO(-) ligands.

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(CF3SO3)2(C4H8O)4], is octa-hedral with two tri-fluoro-methane-sulfonate ligands in trans positions and four tetra-hydro-furane mol-ecules in the equatorial plane. By the conformation of the ligands the complex is chiral in the crystal packing. The compound crystallizes in the Sohncke space group P212121 and is enanti-omerically pure. The packing of the mol-ecules is determined by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal studied was refined as a two-component inversion twin.
