μ-2,3,5,6-Tetra-2-pyridylpyrazine-κN,N,N:κN,N,N-bis-[(methanol-κO)(nitrato-κO,O')(nitrato-κO)cadmium(II)].

ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Cd(2)(NO(3))(4)(C(24)H(16)N(6))(CH(4)O)(2)], displays a centrosymmetric dinuclear structure, in which the 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridinylpyrazine (tppz) ligand links two Cd ions separated by 7.323 (4) Å. Each Cd(II) center is seven-coordinated by three N-atom donors of tppz in one plane, by two O atoms nearly normal to this plane, and by two O atoms 0.393 (3) and 0.488 (3) Å from that plane. The two Cd(II) ions are above and below the plane of the pyrazine ring of the tppz ligand, oriented with respect to the pyridine rings at dihedral angles of 38.01 (3) and 31.90 (3)°. The dihedral angle between the two pyridine rings is 41.11 (3)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules.

Project description:The title cocrystal, [Cu(2)(C(2)O(4))(NO(3))(2)(C(7)H(9)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)][Cu(2)(C(2)O(4))(NO(3))(2)(C(7)H(9)N(3))(2)(CH(4)O)(2)], is a 1:1 cocrystal of two centrosymmetric Cu(II) complexes with oxalate dianions and Schiff base ligands. In each mol-ecule, the Cu(II) centre is in a distorted octa-hedral cis-CuN(2)O(4) environment, the donor atoms of the N,N'-bidentate Schiff base ligand and the bridging O,O'-bidentate oxalate group lying in the equatorial plane. In one mol-ecule, a monodentate nitrate anion and a water mol-ecule occupy the axial sites, and in the other, a monodentate nitrate anion and a methanol mol-ecule occupy these sites. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a network. Weak intra-molecular N-H⋯O inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:The complete mol-ecule of the title compound, [CdFe(2)(C(5)H(5))(2)(C(12)H(8)O(2))(2)(CH(4)O)(4)], is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry, with the Cd atom lying on the rotation axis. The Cd atom is coordinated by the O atoms of the four methanol mol-ecules and by the O atoms of the two carboxyl-ate anions (the latter in cis geometry), resulting in a distorted CdO(6) octa-hedron. The phenyl-ene ring is almost coplanar with its adjacent cyclo-penta-dienyl ring [dihedral angle = 8.2 (2)°]. The uncoordin-ated carboxyl-ate O atom acts as acceptor to two O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds from the methanol mol-ecules, giving rise to a layered network.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(NO(3))(C(5)H(8)N(2))(4)]NO(3), was prepared by reaction of cadmium nitrate and 3,5-dimethyl-pyrazole in ethanol solution. The Cd atom adopts a distorted cis-CdO(2)N(4) octa-hedral geometry involving four dimethylpyrazole molecules and one bidentate nitrate anion. The mol-ecular structure and packing are stabilized by N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter- and intra-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.
