Tetra-kis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-κN)(nitrato-κO,O')cadmium(II) nitrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cd(NO(3))(C(5)H(8)N(2))(4)]NO(3), was prepared by reaction of cadmium nitrate and 3,5-dimethyl-pyrazole in ethanol solution. The Cd atom adopts a distorted cis-CdO(2)N(4) octa-hedral geometry involving four dimethylpyrazole molecules and one bidentate nitrate anion. The mol-ecular structure and packing are stabilized by N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter- and intra-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title salt, [Cu(NO(3))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(4)]NO(3), one nitrate anion is coordinated to the Cu(II) atom, which is also coordinated by the N atoms of four N-heterocycles. The geometry at the metal atom is a square pyramid in which the O atom of the anion occupies the apical position [Cu-O = 2.468 (5) and 2.590 (7) Å in the two independent formula units]. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis; the coordinated nitrate anion is also disordered about this symmetry element. The lattice anion is also disordered about a twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, the cations are linked to the coordinated and free anions by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(CHO(2))Cl(C(5)H(8)N(2))(3)](2)·[CuCl(2)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(2)] or 2[A]·[B], contains one A mol-ecule and one half-molecule of B, located on a centre of inversion. The Cu(II) environments in A and B are different. In A, the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by three N atoms from three 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole (L) ligands, one O atom from a formate ligand and a chloride anion in an axial position [Cu-Cl = 2.4275 (7) Å] in a distorted tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry. The Cu(II) atom in B is coordinated by two N atoms from two L ligands and two chloride anions [Cu-Cl = 2.2524 (6) Å] in a distorted square-planar geometry. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules A into centrosymmetric dimers. Inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds further link these dimers with the B mol-ecules, forming chains propagating in [101].

Project description:The title complex, [Cd(2)(NO(3))(4)(C(24)H(16)N(6))(CH(4)O)(2)], displays a centrosymmetric dinuclear structure, in which the 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridinylpyrazine (tppz) ligand links two Cd ions separated by 7.323 (4) Å. Each Cd(II) center is seven-coordinated by three N-atom donors of tppz in one plane, by two O atoms nearly normal to this plane, and by two O atoms 0.393 (3) and 0.488 (3) Å from that plane. The two Cd(II) ions are above and below the plane of the pyrazine ring of the tppz ligand, oriented with respect to the pyridine rings at dihedral angles of 38.01 (3) and 31.90 (3)°. The dihedral angle between the two pyridine rings is 41.11 (3)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(4)], was obtained unexpectedly by the reaction of copper(II) perchlorate hexa-hydrate with equimolar amounts of 1-chloro-1-nitro-2,2,2-tripyrazolylethane in methanol solution. The crystal structure comprises octa-hedrally coordinated Cu(2+) ions, located on an inversion centre, with four pyrazole ligands in the equatorial plane. The average Cu-N distance is 2.000 (1) Å. Two perchlorate ions are coordinated to copper in trans positions [Cu-O = 2.4163 (11) Å].

Project description:The centrosymmetric mol-ecule of the title complex, [Cd(4)Cl(8)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(6)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)], contains four Cd(II) atoms, six imidazole, two dimethyl-formamide and eight chloride ligands. The structure shows a novel chloride-bridged tetra-nuclear cadmium quasi-cubane cluster. The coordination geometry of all Cd(II) atoms is distorted octa-hedral, with the two metal atoms in the asymmetric unit in different coordination environments. One of the Cd(2+) ions is coordinated by five Cl(-) ions and by one N atom from an imidazole ligand, while the second is coordinated by three chloride ligands, two N atoms from two imidazole ligands and one O atom from a dimethyl-formamide mol-ecule. Inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional polymeric structure parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ag(NO3)(C10H9N3)4], the nitrate ligand is found to be disordered over two sets of positions, with occupancy factors of 0.473 (5) and 0.527 (5). The Ag(I) ion is located in a square-pyramidal coordination environment formed by four N atoms from four bis-(pyridin-2-yl)amine ligands and one O atom from a nitrate ligand. Weak inter-actions between the Ag(I) ions and the nitrate anions acting in a monodentate mode [Ag⋯O = 2.791 (13) and 2.816 (9) Å for the major component of the nitrate ligand, and 2.865 (8) and 2.837 (8) Å for the minor component] link the complex mol-ecules into a chain along [001]. N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed.

The pyrazole ligands are situated in cis positions with respect to each other. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a one-dimensional chain.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(2)O(4))(C(5)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal geometry by two N atoms belonging to the two 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole ligands, two O atoms of the oxalate anion providing an O,O'-chelating coordination mode, and an O atom of the water mol-ecule occupying the apical position. The crystal packing shows a well defined layer structure. Intra-layer connections are realised through a system of hydrogen bonds while the nature of the inter-layer inter-actions is completely hydro-phobic, including no hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The [CuCl(phen))(2)](+) cation contains a five-coordinate Cu(2+) ion, ligated by two bidentate phen ligands and one Cl(-) ion, exhibiting a distorted CuN(4)Cl trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the [Tb(NO(3))(4)(phen)](-) anion, the Tb(3+) ion is coordinated by one chelating phen ligand and four chelating nitrates, forming a distorted TbN(2)O(8) bicapped dodeca-hedral configuration. The anions and cations are assembled into a three-dimensional network by weak C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. There is also a significant π-π stacking inter-action, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.635 (2) Å.
