(E)-2-(Benzyl-imino-meth-yl)-4,6-dibromo-phenol.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(14)H(11)Br(2)NO, was prepared by the condensation of benzyl-amine and 3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxy-benzaldehyde. The crystal structure is stabilized by aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions between the phenol rings of neighbouring mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.530?(5)?Å]. In addition, the stacked mol-ecules exhibit inter-molecular C-H?? and intra-molecular O-H?N inter-actions.

The title compound, C(14)H(11)Br(2)NO, was prepared by the condensation of benzyl-amine and 3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxy-benzaldehyde. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(18)H(16)Br(4)N(2)O(2), comprises half the molecule, which is located adjacent to an inversion centre at the mid-point of the central C-C bond of the butane-1,4-diamine segment. There are two intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds making S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of weak C-H⋯Br inter-actions into chains along [101], which include R(2) (2)(8) ring motifs. These chains are further linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C14H9Br2N3O·0.5C2H5OH, crystallizes with two 2-[(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)imino-meth-yl]-4,6-dibromo-phenol mol-ecules and one ethanol solvent mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The benzene and benzimidazole rings subtend dihedral angles of 4.5?(3) and 5.2?(2)° in the two mol-ecules. In the crystal, one mol-ecule presents ?-? stacking with the equivalent mol-ecule related by inversion, at a distance of 3.30?Å (separation between mol-ecular mean planes). A three-dimensional network is formed through N-H?N, N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(14)H(10)Br(2)NO)(2)], the Co(II) ion is coordinated by an O and an N atom from two equivalent 2-[(E)-benzyl-imino-meth-yl]-4,6-dibromo-phenolate ligands, displaying a distorted tetra-hedral geometry.
