ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Co(2)Cl(4)(C(7)H(8)N(4))(2)], contains a dinuclear complex molecule in which each Co(II) atom is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two N atoms and two chloride ions. The 1,1'-methyl-enebis(1H-imidazole) ligands adopt a bis-monodentate bridging mode linking two Co(II) atoms.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Cd(II) atom is coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from two bidentate chelating 4-methyl-benzoate ligands, two N atoms from two imidazole ligands and one water mol-ecule in a distorted penta-gonal bipyramidal geometry. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate O atoms of 4-methyl-benzoate lead to an infinite chain. These chains are further self-assembled into a two-dimensional layer through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the imidazole ligands and carboxyl-ate groups. One of the imidazole ligands is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.737 (4) and 0.263 (4).

Project description:In the title mononuclear zinc(II) complex, [Zn(C(8)H(7)O(2)S(2))(2)(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)], the Zn(II) atom, lying on a twofold axis, is coordinated by two O atoms from two 2-(3,4-disulfanylphen-yl)acetate anions and by two N atoms from 2-methyl-imidazole ligands in a distorted tetra-hdral coordination. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6136 (16) Å.

Mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework via O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Zn-N = 1.996 (6) and 2.032 (5) Å] and two O atoms [Zn-O = 1.930 (4) and 1.976 (4) Å] in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Each Cu(II) atom displays an elongted square-pyramidal CuN(2)O(3) coordination geometry with a slight tetra-hedral distortion in the basal plane. Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)](n), the carboxyl-ate groups of the 3-nitro-phthalate dianion ligand coordinate the Zn(II) ion in a bis-monodentate mode. The Zn(II) ion shows distorted tetra-hedral coordination as it is bonded to two O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of symmetry-related 3-nitro-phthalate anions and two N atoms of two independent 1-methyl-imidazole mol-ecules. The bridging 3-nitro-phthalate ligand allows the formation of one-dimensional chains in the c direction. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, [CuCl(C17H24N8)]ClO4, the copper(II) metal exhibits an N4Cl penta-coordinate environment in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. Coordination to the metal centre occurs through the three 1-methyl-imidazole N atoms from the pendant groups, one amine N atom from the imidazolidine moiety and one chlorido anion. Inter-molecular inter-actions take place at two of the 1-methyl--imidazole rings in the form of parallel-displaced π-π stacking inter-actions forming chains parallel to the a axis. Three O atoms of the perchlorate anion are rotationally disordered between two orientations with occupancies of 0.5.
