Tetra-aqua-bis(N-phenyl-sulfonyl-l-leucinato)cadmium(II) dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cd(C(12)H(16)NO(4)S)(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O, the Cd atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and a distorted CdO(8) dodeca-hedral arrangement arises from the coordination of the two chelating ligands and four water mol-ecules. A network of N-H?O, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds help to establish the crystal packing. Both coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules are disordered with an approximate half-occupation for each of the water molecules.

Project description:In the title dinuclear ionic complex, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(H(2)O)(8)][Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)(C(4)H(4)N(2))], the cation and anion are disordered equally over a site with symmetry mmm. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H?O inter-actions.

Copper has a square-planar coordination with two N and two O atoms of the quadridentate chiral Schiff base ligand. The Cd(2+) ion is coordinated by six aqua ligands with a slightly distorted octa-hedral configuration. Ions are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and the [Cd(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cations and [CuL](-) anions (L = Schiff base derived from glycyl-l-leucine and salicylaldehyde) occupy a stacking structure within well separated columns along the a axis. The two crystallographically independent copper-Schiff base anions each have a chiral carbon centre with an S configuration. Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Co(C4H11N2)2(H2O)4](SO4)2·2H2O, the Co(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four water O atoms and two piperazinium N atoms. These four water O atoms define an equatorial plane with a maximum deviation of 0.0384 (1) Å while the two piperazinium N atoms complete the octa-hedron in the axial positions. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni atom form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement and the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the isonicotinamide (INA) ligands at a sligthly longer distance in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 8.14?(11)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 3.46?(6)°. In the crystal structure, O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. ?-? Contacts between the benzene and pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.751?(1)?Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the crystal structure of the title complex, [Co(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(8)H(5)O(3))(2)·2H(2)O, contains one-half of the complex cation with the Co(II) ion located on an inversion center, a 4-formyl-benzoate (FB) counter-anion and an uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Co(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement with an average Co-O bond length of 2.086 Å; the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the isonicotinamide (INA) ligands at a slightly longer distance [2.1603 (14) Å] in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 5.93 (13)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 3.09 (6)°. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π Contacts between the benzene and pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.758 (1) Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title polymeric coordination complex, {[Cd(C(22)H(20)N(2)O(6))(H(2)O)(4)](NO(3))(2)·0.5H(2)O}(n), obtained from the self-assembly of the flexible double betaine 3,3'-[p-phenyl-enebis(oxymethyl-ene)]bis-(1-pyridinioacetate) with cadmium nitrate, both the octa-hedrally coordinated Cd(II) cation and the substituted betaine ligand lie on inversion centres. The chains constructed through the trans-related acetate groups of the ligand are inter-connected via O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving coordinated aqua ligands, the nitrate anions and the partial-occupancy (0.25) water mol-ecule of solvation, forming a three-dimensional structure.
