ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(C(22)H(17)BrN(2)O(4))]·CH(3)OH, the Ni(II) ion is in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry involving an N(2)O(2) atom set of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand. The asymmetric unit contains one nickel complex and one methanol solvent mol-ecule. The dihedral angle between the aromatic ring planes of the central aromatic ring and other two aromatic rings are 10.8?(3) and 6.0?(2)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?Br and by intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.
