Bis(perchlorato-?O)tetra-kis[1-(2-pyridyl)-4-(4-pyridylmethyl-?N)piperazine]cadmium(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cd(ClO(4))(2)(C(15)H(18)N(4))(4)], the Cd(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment by two trans monodentate perchlorate ligands and four 1-(2-pyrid-yl)-4-(4-pyridylmeth-yl)piperazine (pmpp) ligands. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are organized into layers parallel to the ab plane by C-H?O inter-actions. Similar inter-actions promote the stacking of these layers into the three-dimensional crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(4)], was obtained unexpectedly by the reaction of copper(II) perchlorate hexa-hydrate with equimolar amounts of 1-chloro-1-nitro-2,2,2-tripyrazolylethane in methanol solution. The crystal structure comprises octa-hedrally coordinated Cu(2+) ions, located on an inversion centre, with four pyrazole ligands in the equatorial plane. The average Cu-N distance is 2.000?(1)?Å. Two perchlorate ions are coordinated to copper in trans positions [Cu-O = 2.4163?(11)?Å].

Project description:The cation of the salt, [Mn(2)(C(14)H(14)N(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(4), lies on a center of inversion, the center lying midway along the ethyl-ene chain of the bridging N,N'-bis-(2-pyridylmethyl-ene)ethane-1,2-diamine ligand. The Mn atom is chelated by two atoms N atoms of this bridging ligand, and is also coordinated by four N atoms of another ligand. The Mn atom is seven-coordinated in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment. The crystal structure displays inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a shortest centroid-centroid distance of 3.784?(3)?Å. The perchlorate is linked to the dinuclear cation by O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title dinuclear complex, [Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(4)(C(28)H(32)N(6))]·9H(2)O, is located on a crystallographic inversion center. The unique Cd(II) ion displays a 5 + 2 coordination. A distorted square-pyramidal geometry is formed by the dipicolyl-amine unit of the ligand via the N atoms in a meridional fashion and two O atoms of the acetate ligands with short Cd-O distances. The coordination is completed by two loosely bound O atoms of the acetate ligands. The Cd-N distances involving the pyridine N atoms differ slightly from each other and the Cd-N distance involving the tertiary N atom is the longest. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules and solvent water mol-ecules are connected into a three-dimensional network via inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. One of the water mol-ecules lies on a twofold rotation axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(ClO(4))(C(30)H(34)N(6))]ClO(4), consists of a cationic [Mn(ClO(4))(C(30)H(34)N(6))](+) complex and a perchlorate anion. In the complex, the Mn(2+) ion is seven-coordinated in an approximately penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment by six N atoms from the hexa-dentate N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(2-pyridylmeth-yl)-cyclo-hexane-1,2-diamine (tpdach) ligand and one O atom from a perchlorate anion. The complex displays inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings (centroid-to-centroid distance 4.133?Å). Moreover, there are weak intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The Cl atom and two O atoms of the perchlorate are disordered, with a site-occupancy factor of 0.59?(2) for the major component.

Project description:In the title dinuclear ionic complex, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(H(2)O)(8)][Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)(C(4)H(4)N(2))], the cation and anion are disordered equally over a site with symmetry mmm. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Cd(NCS)(2)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(4)], consists of isolated mol-ecules of [Cd(NCS)(2)(Eim)(4)] (Eim = 1-ethyl-imidazole), which contain a compressed octa-hedral CdN(6) chromophore. The NCS(-) anions are trans and four N atoms from the 1-ethyl-imidazole ligands define the equatorial plane. The mean Cd-N(Eim) and Cd-N(NCS) distances are 2.334?(4) and 2.379?(5)?Å, respectively. Project description:The title dinuclear copper complex, [Cu(2)Br(4)(C(28)H(32)N(6))], is located on an inversion center. The unique Cu(II) ion is in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal environment in which the N atoms of a dipicolyl-amine group and a bromide ligand form the basal plane. The apical site is occupied by a second Br atom. While the Cu-N distances involving the pyridine N atoms are the same within experimental error, the Cu-N distance involving the tertiary N atom is slightly elongated. Due to the typical Jahn-Teller distortion of copper(II) complexes, the apical Cu-Br distance is elongated.

Project description:The complete mol-ecule of the title compound, [CdFe(2)(C(5)H(5))(2)(C(12)H(8)O(2))(2)(CH(4)O)(4)], is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry, with the Cd atom lying on the rotation axis. The Cd atom is coordinated by the O atoms of the four methanol mol-ecules and by the O atoms of the two carboxyl-ate anions (the latter in cis geometry), resulting in a distorted CdO(6) octa-hedron. The phenyl-ene ring is almost coplanar with its adjacent cyclo-penta-dienyl ring [dihedral angle = 8.2?(2)°]. The uncoordin-ated carboxyl-ate O atom acts as acceptor to two O-H?O hydrogen bonds from the methanol mol-ecules, giving rise to a layered network.
