In the crystal, a two-dimensional sheet structure is formed through aminium N-H?O(carbox-yl) hydrogen-bonding associations.

Project description:The title compound, C(9)H(14)N(+)·I(3) (-)·C(9)H(13)N, consists of monoprotonated 4-tert-butyl-pyridinium cations and triiodide anions. The triiodide ion has near-symmetric linear geometry, with bond lengths of 2.9105 (4) Å (I-I) and a bond angle of 177.55 (3)° (I-I-I). For this room-temperature structure, the butyl group on the pyridine ring is disordered and has been treated as a rigid rotator, modeled in three separate positions with 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 occupancies. The cations assemble into dimeric forms by way of N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

N-Butyl-4-butyl-imino-2-methyl-pentan-2-aminium (E)-quercetinate.

Project description:The title salt, C(14)H(31)N(2) (+)·C(15)H(9)O(7) (-), was obtained in the reaction of quercetin with n-butyl-amine in a mixture of acetone and hexane. The crystal structure determination shows that the quercetin donates one of its phenol H atoms to the N-butyl-4-butyl-imino-2-methyl-pentan-2-amine mol-ecule. The crystal structure of the salt is stabilized by intramolecular (N-H?N for the cation and O-H?O for the anion) and intermolecular hydrogen bonding (N-H?O between cation-anion pairs and O-H?O between anions). Quercetin molecules form dimers connected into a two-dimensional network. The dihedral angle between the quercetin ring systems is 19.61?(8)°.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(28)H(32)N(2), the benzimidazole ring system is almost planar [maximum deviation = 0.0221 (15) Å] and forms dihedral angles of 85.86 (4) and 32.09 (6)° with the benzene rings. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into chains running parallel to the a axis by inter-molecular C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The methyl groups of a tert-butyl group are rotationally disordered over two positions with refined site-occupancy factors of 0.636 (4) and 0.364 (4).

Metabolically Stable tert-Butyl Replacement.

Project description:Susceptibility to metabolism is a common issue with the tert-butyl group on compounds of medicinal interest. We demonstrate an approach of removing all the fully sp(3) C-Hs from a tert-butyl group: replacing some C-Hs with C-Fs and increasing the s-character of the remaining C-Hs. This approach gave a trifluoromethylcyclopropyl group, which increased metabolic stability. Trifluoromethylcyclopropyl-containing analogues had consistently higher metabolic stability in vitro and in vivo compared to their tert-butyl-containing counterparts.

The pyridinium cations and picrate anions are linked via bifurcated N-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds. The ionic pairs are linked into a ribbon-like structure along [101] by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:A new polymorph of the title compound, [Pd(2)(C(8)H(18)P)(2)(C(8)H(19)P)(2)], has been found. It belongs to the triclinic P-1 space group, whereas the known form [Leoni, Sommovigo, Pasquali, Sabatino & Braga (1992 ?), J. Organo-met. Chem.423, 263-270] crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group. The title compound features a dinuclear palladium complex with a planar central Pd(2)(?-P)(2) core (r.m.s. deviation = 0.003?Å). The Pd-Pd distance of 2.5988?(5)?Å is within the range of a Pd(I)-Pd(I) bond. The mol-ecules of both polymorphs are located on a crystallographic centre of inversion. The mol-ecular conformations of the two polymorphs are essentially identical. The crystal packing patterns, on the other hand, are slightly different.
