ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [UO(2)(C(4)H(7)O(3))(2)](n), the dioxouranium(VI) units are linked by 2-hydr-oxy-2-methyl-propionate ligands into a honeycomb structure. The U atom is seven-coordinate in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. The uncoordinated hydr-oxy groups of the 2-hydr-oxy-2-methyl-propionate ions inter-act with the O atom of the uranyl and with the coordinated hydr-oxy group of an adjacent 2-hydr-oxy-2-methyl-propionate ion through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The coordination polymer [Zn(2)(C(10)H(8)O(5))(2)(H(2)O)(3)](n) adopts a layer structure in which the two independent Zn(II) ions exist in trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometries. One carboxyl-ate dianion binds to a monoaqua-coordinated metal ion through the aliphatic carboxyl-ate end and to the diaqua-coordinated metal ion through the aromatic carboxyl-ate end; the other dianion binds in the reverse manner. Three of the four carboxyl-ate ends of the two dianions are also engaged in bridging inter-actions; these lead to a layer structure parallel to (100). Adjacent layers are linked by O-H(water)⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, {Na(4)[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)]}(n), were grown from a melt of MoO(3) and Na(2)SO(4) in Na(2)S(2)O(7). In contrast to the structure of the isoformular K compound, K(4)[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)], with its monomeric anion, this sodium analogue contains a polymeric anion of the type {[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(2)-μ-(SO(4))](4-)}(n). The Mo(VI) cations, surrounded by two tightly bonded O atoms and four O atoms of one bridging and two terminal sulfato ligands, form zigzag chains parallel to [100]. All four Na(+) cations are situated between the anionic chains and have distorted octa-hedral coordination spheres.

Project description:The structure of the binuclear title complex, [U(2)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(4)O(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, is composed of centrosymmetric dimers in which each UO(2) (2+) ion is coordinated by two ligand mol-ecules. One donates its N,O-bonding group and the other donates both carboxyl-ate O atoms. Each of the latter bridges adjacent uranyl ions. The coordination environment of the metal center is a distorted penta-gonal bipyramid. The dimers are inter-connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N inter-action is also present.

Each Pr(III) ion is nine-coordinated by one 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule, one bidentate carboxyl-ate group and four bridging carboxyl-ate groups in a distorted PrN(2)O(7) monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. One of these O atoms is also connected to the metal cation from an inversion-related metal atom. The five O atoms bonded to the metal centre form a penta-gon, above and below which are located the N atoms of the 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules. The polycationic ribbon propagates along the b axis of the unit cell. The (aromatic) carboxyl end of the monoanion connects adjacent ribbons into a layer motif in the (102) plane. The nitrate ions are hydrogen bonded to the layer. The geometry of the Cd(II) atom is a trans-N(2)O(5)Cd penta-gonal bipyramid.

Project description:In the cation of the title compound, {[Y(NO(3))(2)(C(6)H(18)N(3)OP)(4)][AgMoS(4)]}(n), the Y atom is coordinated by eight O atoms from two chelating nitrate groups and four hexa-methyl-phospho-ramide (hmp) ligands, which gives rise to a distorted square-anti-prismatic environment. Together with the two nitrate ligands, the overall charge for the complex cation is +1, which leads to the anionic chain having a monovalent repeat unit. The polymeric anionic chain, with Mo-Ag-Mo and Ag-Mo-Ag angles of 161.916 (13) and 153.915 (13)°, respectively, presents a distorted linear configuration. The cations and the anions are linked via weak C-H⋯S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions while the cations exhibit inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions. The structure is isotypic with the corresponding W, Yb, Eu, Nd, La and Dy complexes.

The central Dy atom in the cation is coordinated by eight O atoms from two didentate nitrate and four hmp ligands, giving rise to a distorted square anti-prismatic structure. Together with the two nitrate ligands, the cation is univalent, which leads to the anionic chain having a [WS(4)Ag] repeat unit. The polymeric anionic chain, with W-Ag-W and Ag-W-Ag angles 161.16 (2) and 153.606 (11)°, respectively, presents a distorted linear configuration. The title compound is isotypic with other rare earth complexes.

The bridging bpe ligand is arranged around a twofold axis passing through the middle of the ethane C-C bond. The geometry around the Zn(II) ion is distorted octa-hedral, constructed by four O atoms from two Hopa(-) ligands and two N atoms from two bridging bpe ligands. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the chains, forming a three-dimensional network.
