ABSTRACT: The V(V) atom in the title compound, [VO(C(7)H(7)N(2)O)(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(3))], is N,O-chelated by the benzohydrazidate anion and O,N,O'-chelated by the 2-(benzoyl-hydrazono)propionate dianion. The distorted octa-hedral trans-N(2)O(4) coordination geometry is completed by the vandadyl O atom. Mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a supra-molecular chain structure parallel to [010].

Project description:The title oxovanadium(V) complex, [V(C(18)H(13)N(3)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], was obtained by the reaction of 1-(2-hy-droxy-naphthalen-1-yl)ethanone, nicotinohydrazide and vanadyl sulfate in methanol. The V(V) atom is six-coordinated by the N,N,O-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom, one methanol O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The methanol O atom lies trans to the V=O group. The dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and the naphthalene ring system is 31.52 (10)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds occur.

Project description:The tridentate Schiff base ligand of the title complex, [V(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(4))O(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·C(3)H(7)NO, was derived from the condensation of 2-hy-droxy-1-naphthaldehyde and l-asparagine. The central V(IV) atom is six-coordinated by one oxide O atom, two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline and one N atom and two O atoms from the Schiff base ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The C atoms of the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule are disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.732 (13) and 0.268 (13).

The Gd(III) ion is located on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated by four N atoms from two chelating phen ligands and four O atoms (5-carboxyl-ate and 4-oxido O atoms) from H(2)iso(-) and Hiso(2-) ligands. The mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by N-H⋯O, N-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The H atom involved in an N-H⋯N hydrogen bond is disordered around a twofold rotation axis with half occupancy.

Project description:The 4,4'-bipyridine heterocycle in the polymeric title compound, [Cd(C(16)H(13)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), links adjacent Cd(II) ions into a chain running along the c axis. The Cd atom, which lies on a twofold rotation axis, is chelated by the carboxyl-ate unit and exists in a seven-coordinate penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. The apical sites are occupied by N atoms. The water mol-ecule also lies on the twofold rotation axis. The methyl substituent of the propano-ate group is disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between water molecules and adjacent carboxylate O atoms is observed.

The metal center has a monocapped square-anti-prismatic coordination.
