ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [V(C(16)H(13)NO(3))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], the V(V) atom is six-coordinated by a tridentate ligand derived from the condensation of salicyl-aldehyde and l-phenyl-alanine, a vanadyl O atom, a methano-late O atom and a methanol O atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds result in a two-dimensional structure parallel to (001).

Project description:The title oxovanadium(V) complex, [V(C(18)H(13)N(3)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], was obtained by the reaction of 1-(2-hy-droxy-naphthalen-1-yl)ethanone, nicotinohydrazide and vanadyl sulfate in methanol. The V(V) atom is six-coordinated by the N,N,O-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom, one methanol O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The methanol O atom lies trans to the V=O group. The dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and the naphthalene ring system is 31.52 (10)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds occur.

Project description:The V(V) atom in the title complex, [V(C(14)H(8)BrClN(2)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], is six-coordinated by one phenolate O, one imine N and one enolic O atom of the hydrazone ligand, one oxide O atom, one methanol O atom and one methoxide O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of the hydrazone ligand is 13.2?(3)°. The deviation of the V atom towards the oxide O atom from the plane defined by the three donor atoms of the hydrazone ligand and the meth-oxy O atom is 0.318?(2)?Å. Bond lengths are comparable with those observed in similar oxidovanadium(V) complexes with hydrazone ligands. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers.

Project description:The title oxidovanadium(V) complex, [V(C(17)H(16)N(2)O(3))(CH(3)O)O], was obtained by the reaction of 3-eth-oxy-2-hy-droxy-benzaldehyde, 4-methyl-benzohydrazide and vanadyl sulfate in methanol. The V(V) atom is coordinated by the O,N,O'-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted VO(4)N square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The oxide O atom lies at the apex of the square pyramid and the N atom of the ligand and the methano-late O atom are trans. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings of the ligand is 1.8 (3)°.

Weak inter-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure. The bromo-phenyl unit is disordered over two positions, with the major component being in a 0.909?(6) proportion.

In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The C atoms of the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule are disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.732 (13) and 0.268 (13).
