(4-Methyl-benzohydrazidato-κN',O)[2-(4-methyl-benzoyl-hydrazinyl-idene-κN,O)-3-phenyl-propionato(2-)]oxido-vanadium(V) methanol monosolvate.

ABSTRACT: The V(V) atom in the title compound, [V(C(8)H(9)N(2)O)(C(17)H(14)N(2)O(3))O]·CH(3)OH, is N,O-chelated by the benzoyl-hydrazidate anion and O,N,O'-chelated by the (benzoyl-hydrazono)propionate dianion. The octa-hedral trans-N(2)O(4) coordination geometry is completed by the vanadyl O atom. Two mononuclear complexes and two solvent mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, generating a centrosymmetric aggregate.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Cr(3)(CH(3)CO(2))(6)(N(3))O(CH(3)OH)(2)]·CH(3)OH, the trinuclear core has a central O atom; two methanol mol-ecules and an azide ion are coordinated to the Cr(III) atoms in the core. The three Cr(III) atoms form vertices of a nearly equilateral triangle. Each of the six acetate carboxyl-ate groups bridges a Cr-O-Cr fragment. In the crystal, the molecules inter-act with methanol solvent mol-ecules through O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network parallel to (100).

Project description:The V(V) atom in the title complex, [V(C(14)H(8)BrClN(2)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], is six-coordinated by one phenolate O, one imine N and one enolic O atom of the hydrazone ligand, one oxide O atom, one methanol O atom and one methoxide O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of the hydrazone ligand is 13.2?(3)°. The deviation of the V atom towards the oxide O atom from the plane defined by the three donor atoms of the hydrazone ligand and the meth-oxy O atom is 0.318?(2)?Å. Bond lengths are comparable with those observed in similar oxidovanadium(V) complexes with hydrazone ligands. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers.

Project description:The title oxovanadium(V) complex, [V(C(18)H(13)N(3)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], was obtained by the reaction of 1-(2-hy-droxy-naphthalen-1-yl)ethanone, nicotinohydrazide and vanadyl sulfate in methanol. The V(V) atom is six-coordinated by the N,N,O-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom, one methanol O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The methanol O atom lies trans to the V=O group. The dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and the naphthalene ring system is 31.52 (10)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds occur.

The two aromatic rings present in the mol-ecule are almost coplanar, forming a dihedral angle of 1.4?(2)°. The five-membered ring involving the metal atom is puckered, with an amplitude Q = 0.358?(2)?Å and ? = 204.1?(6)°. In the crystal, pairs of inversion-related mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N hydrogen bonds. An O-H?O hydrogen bond connects the water ligand to the di-methyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule. The crystal packing also features ?-? [centroid-centroid distance of 3.688?(2)?Å] and C-H?O inter-actions.
