ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cd(C(7)H(4)N(5)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the water-coordinated Cd(II) atom ( symmetry) is coordinated by four N atoms from two symmetry-related 3-carboxy-pyidyl-6-tetra-zolato ligands, forming a distorted octa-hedral complex. The uncoordinated water mol-ecules connect the mononuclear units into a layer structure through O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds; similar hydrogen bonds between coordinated water mol-ecules and anionic groups result in a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title compound, [CuCl(2)(C(6)H(5)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of CuCl(2) with 3-(2H-tetra-zol-5-yl)pyridine. The Cu(II) cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two Cl(-) ions, two N atoms from two 5-(3-pyridinio)tetra-zolate zwitterions and two O atoms from two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional sheet parallel to (001) by N-H⋯N, O-H⋯N, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving the pyridinium N atom, the Cl atoms and the coordinated and free water mol-ecules. The latter are disordered over two positions in a 0.54:0.46 ratio.

Project description:The title complex, [Mn(C(7)H(6)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], was obtained by the in situ hydro-thermal reaction of MnCl(2) with 2-(2-pyrid-yl)acetonitrile in the presence of NaN(3). The Mn(II) atom, which is located on an inversion centre, has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by two water mol-ecules and two chelating ligands. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions (3.452 Å) stabilize the crystal structure and lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title complex, [Fe(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], was synthesized by the reaction of ferrous sulfate with 5-(2-pyrid-yl)-2H-tetra-zole (HL). The Fe(II) atom, located on a crystallographic center of inversion, is coordinated by four N-atom donors from two planar trans-related deprotonated L ligands and two O atoms from two axial water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Fe(II) mononuclear units are further connected by inter-molecular O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Co atom is bonded to two water mol-ecules and two bidentate 5-(2-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate ligands resulting in a slightly distorted octa-hedral CoN(4)O(2) coordination geometry. The Co(II) cation is situated on a crystallographic center of inversion. The asymmetric unit therefore comprises one-half of the mol-ecule. The four N atoms belonging to two bidentate 5-(2-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate ligands lie in the equatorial plane and the two associated water mol-ecules are observed in the axial coordination sites.
