Poly[?-5-ammonio-isophthalato-aqua-?-oxalato-dysprosium(III)].

ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Dy(C(8)H(6)NO(4))(C(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), is a dysprosium coordination polymer with mixed anions and was obtained under hydrothermal conditions. In the structure, the oxalate and 5-amino-isophthalate ligands link the dysprosium ions, building up a two-dimensional metal-organic framework parallel to the (10) plane. These sheets are further connected through O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title complex, {[Dy(C(6)H(4)NO(3))(C(2)O(4))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the Dy(III) ion is coordinated by seven O atoms from two 2-oxidopyridinium-3-carboxylate ligands, two oxalate ligands and one water mol-ecule, displaying a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The carboxyl-ate groups of the 2-oxidopyridinium-3-carboxylate and oxalate ligands link dysprosium metal centres, forming layers parallel to (100). These layers are further connected by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the coordin-ated water mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The uncoordinated water mol-ecule is involved in N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions within the layer.

Project description:The title compound, {[Nd(2)(C(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), was synthesized hydro-thermally in the presence of bis-(carb-oxy-ethyl-germanium) sesquioxide. It is isostructural with the corresponding Pr compound [Yang et al. (2009). Acta Cryst. E65, m1152-m1153]. The Nd(3+) cation is nine-coordinated and its coordination polyhedron can be described as a distorted tricapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(3+) ions are connected by two O atoms from two oxalate ions to give a dinuclear Nd(2) unit. The unit is further linked to four others via four oxalate ions yielding a layerparallel to (0-11). The linkages between the layers by neighbouring oxalate anions lead to a three-dimensional framework with channels along the c axis. The coordinating and free water mol-ecules are located in the channels and make contact with each other and the host framework by weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The Nd(III) ion is coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from three bridging 5-aza-nium-yl-isophthalate (Haip) ligands, four carboxyl-ate O atoms from two oxalate (ox) anions and one ligated water mol-ecule in a tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The Haip anion acts as a ?(3)-bridge, connecting three Nd(III) ions through two carboxyl-ate groups; the ox anion adopts a bis-bidentate-bridging mode, linking two Nd(III) ions. The layer framework is further extended to a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure through N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title heteronuclear complex, {[AgHo(C(14)H(8)N(2)O(5))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), has a three-dimensional polymeric structure, generated by the carboxyl-ate and pyridine groups of the 5-(isonicotinamido)-isophthalate (INAIP) ligands bridging the metal atoms. The Ho(III) atom is coordinated by seven O atoms from INAIP ligands and a water mol-ecule in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry, while the Ag(I) atom has a distorted trigonal-planar AgN(2)O geometry. Inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

The Ce(III) atom is coordinated by eight O atoms from six INAIP ligands and a water mol-ecule in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, while the Ag(I) atom has a distorted trigonal-planar AgN(2)O geometry. O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.642?(4) and 3.624?(3)?Å] stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(H2O)6][BaCr(C2O4)3(H2O)3]2·4H2O, was obtained in the form of single crystals from the slow evaporation of an aqueous mixture of {Ba6(H2O)17[Cr(C2O4)3]4}·7H2O and NiSO4·6H2O in the molar ratio 1:4. Its structure is made up of corrugated anionic (101) layers of formula [BaCr(C2O4)3(H2O)3] n n - that leave voids accommodating the charge-compensating cations, [Ni(H2O)6]2+ (point group symmetry ), as well as the water mol-ecules of crystallization. The anionic layers are built from the connection of barium and chromium atoms through bridging oxalate ligands. The CrIII atom is hexa-coordinated by O atoms of three oxalate ligands while the BaII atom is tenfold coordinated by three O atoms of water mol-ecules and seven O atoms of four oxalate ligands. Each NiII atom sits on an inversion center and is coordinated by six water mol-ecules. One of the uncoordinated water mol-ecules is disordered over two sites, with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.51?(5):0.49?(5). In the crystal, extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the anionic layers, the charge-balancing cations as well as the water mol-ecules of crystallization into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mg(C(8)H(6)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Mg(II) ion lies on a twofold roatation axis and is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. Pairs of bridging ammonium-isophthalate ligands connect symmetry-related Mg(II) ions, forming chains along [010]. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link these chains into a three-dimensional network. The centroids of pairs of symmetry-related benzene rings within a chain are separated by 3.5707 (12) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, {[NiTb2(C14H8N2O5)4(H2O)4]·4H2O} n , the Tb(III) ion is coordinated by one water mol-ecule and seven O atoms from four 5-(pyridine-4-carboxamido)-isophthalate (L) ligands in a distorted square-anti-prismatic arrangement, while the Ni(II) ion, lying on an inversion center, is six-coordinated in an octa-hedral geometry by two pyridine N atoms, two carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules. One L ligand bridges two Tb(III) ions and one Ni(II) ion through two carboxyl-ate groups and one pyridine N atom. The other L ligand bridges two Tb(III) ions and one Ni(II) ion through two carboxyl-ate groups, while the uncoordinating pyridine N atom is hydrogen bonded to an adjacent coordinating water mol-ecule. Extensive O-H?O, N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds play an important role in stabilizing the crystal structure.
