ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(4)H(12)NO(3) (+)·C(2)HCl(2)O(2) (-), was obtained from dichloro-acetic acid and 2-amino-2-(hydroxy-meth-yl)propane-1,3-diol. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are connected by inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonding, forming a two-dimensional array parallel to (001). The crystal used for analysis was a merohedral twin, as indicated by the Flack parameter of 0.67?(6).
