ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(19)H(19)NO(13), one of the two fused furan-ose rings adopts an envelope conformation whereas the other displays a twisted conformation. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions between a methine H atom and the triacetoxy-phenyl ring of an adjacent mol-ecule, and by weak non-classical inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The mol-ecular structures of the chiral title compounds, [Pd(C19H28N2)2I2], (I), and [Pd(C19H28N2)Cl2(C18H15P)], (II), show a distorted square-planar coordination around the Pd(II) atoms with two halogenide (Hal) ligands each and two N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands in (I) or one NHC and one tri-phenyl-phosphane ligand in (II). The deviations of the Pd(II) atoms from the L 2Hal2 best plane (L = NHC or tri-phenyl-phosphane ligand) are 0.206 (1) Å for (I) and 0.052 (1) Å for (II). The crystal packings exhibit inter-molecular C-H⋯Hal hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(13)FN(2)O(3), the fused piperidine ring is in a chair conformation. The fused pyrrolidine ring shows an envelope conformation with the N atom displaced by 0.661 (3) Å out of the plane formed by the four C atoms of the pyrrolidine ring. The dihedral angle between this plane and the plane formed by the four attached C atoms of the piperidine ring (not including the carbonyl C atom) is 67.63 (10)°. The F atom is disordered and was refined using a split model with an occupancy ratio of 0.910 (3): 0.080 (3).

Project description:The title compound was synthesized in the course of the total synthesis of fusaequisin A in order to verify and confirm the configurations of the stereogenic centers and to exclude the possibility of epimerization during the methylation process. The absolute configuration was determined by anomalous dispersion and agrees with the configuration of the allylic alcohol used in the synthesis. The title compound, C16H20O4, was synthesized in the course of the total synthesis of fusaequisin A in order to verify and confirm the configurations of the stereogenic centers and to exclude the possibility of epimerization during the methylation process. The crystal structure of the title compound at 100 K has orthorhombic (P212121) symmetry. The absolute configuration was determined by anomalous dispersion and agrees with the configuration of the allylic alcohol used in the synthesis.

Project description:The title compound, C(27)H(39)N(3)O(2)·H(2)O, is a chiral pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide derivative including cis-myrtanyl groups as amine substituents. The pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide core approximates C(2) point symmetry and a solvent water mol-ecule lies on the pseudo-twofold axis. The water mol-ecule serves both as acceptor and donor for efficient hydrogen bonds involving N-H and C=O functional groups as donor and acceptor groups, respectively. As a result, each water mol-ecule in the crystal structure is tetra-hedrally bonded to three symmetry-related mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. Project description:Substitution of the ribose moiety of various nucleosides and nucleotides with the (N)-methanocarba ring system increases the potency and selectivity as ligands at certain subtypes of adenosine and P2 receptors. We have prepared a key intermediate in the synthesis of these derivatives, ethyl (1S,2R,3S,4S,5S)-2,3-O-(isopropylidene)-4-hydroxybicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-carboxylate (15), starting from L-ribose (8) as a readily available, enantiopure building block. L-ribose was converted to the corresponding 5'-iodo derivative (9), which was cleaved reductively with Zn. Improvements were made in subsequent steps corresponding to a published route to biologically important (N)-methanocarba 5'-uronamido nucleosides, and new steps were added to prepare related 5'-nucleotides.

Origins of stereoselectivities of dihydroxylations of cis-bicyclo[3.3.0]octenes.

Project description:Stereoselectivities of the dihydroxylations of cis-bicyclo[3.3.0]octene intermediates for a projected total synthesis of chromodorolide A have been explored experimentally. The reaction occurs unexpectedly on the apparently more hindered (concave) face; this result has been explained through computational studies using B3LYP and B3LYP-D3 methods. Torsional effects are largely responsible for the stereoselectivity encountered in the chromodorolide A synthesis. Many literature examples have been reported on related cases. QM calculations show that the stereoselectivities of dihydroxylations of fused cyclopentenes are influenced by the conformational rigidity or flexibility of the substrate. Torsional, electrostatic, and steric effects can all influence stereoselectivity, and the rigidity or flexibility of conformations of reactants provides a predictive guide to stereoselectivity.
