Dichloridobis{N-[(dimethyl-amino)dimethyl-silyl]-2,6-dimethyl-anilido-κN,N'}zirconium(IV).

ABSTRACT: The monomeric title zirconium(IV) compound, [Zr(C(12)H(21)N(2)Si)(2)Cl(2)], was prepared by the metathetical reaction of [LiN(SiMe(2)NMe(2))(2,6-Me(2)C(6)H(3))](2) with zirconium tetra-chloride. The Zr(IV) atom is N,N'-chelated by the N-silylated anilido ligand. Along with two Cl atoms, the six-coordinated Zr(IV) atom demonstrates a highly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The two ligands around the Zr(IV) atom are arranged cis to each other and obey the C(2) symmetry operation. That means the asymmetric unit consists of only half of the mol-ecular compound and the complete mol-ecule is generated by a twofold axis. The two ends of the N-Si-N chelating unit exhibit different affinities for the metal center. The Zr-N(amino) bond is longer than the Zr-N(anilido) bond.

The two ends of the N-Si-N chelating unit exhibit different affinity to the metal center. The Ti-N(amine) bond is longer than the Ti-N(anilide) bond by about 0.29 Å. The two ligands are arranged trans to each other and the mol-ecule demonstrates a pseudo-twofold rotation along the axis of the Ti-Cl bond. The five-coordinate Ti atom demonstrates a highly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(12)H(21)N(2)Si)(2)], is a binuclear Cu(I) complex. The dimeric mol-ecule has an inversion center located at the mid-point of the Cu-Cu bond [Cu-Cu = 2.7209 (7) Å]. The bidentate ligand behaves in an N:N'-bridging mode, coordinating the metal atoms. The N-Cu-N unit is close to being linear [176.60 (8)°]. The two N atoms exhibit different affinities for the metal atom. The Cu-N(amino) bond is longer than the Cu-N(anilido) bond by 0.079 Å. The core of the mol-ecule, the [Cu-N-Si-N](2) eight-membered ring, adopts a chair configuration.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(9)H(16)N(2)Si)(2)], the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral environment formed by two chloride ions and the pyridine N atoms of two chelating 6-methyl-2-[(trimethyl-silyl)amino]pyridine ligands. The dihedral angle between the planes of the pyridine rings is 80.06 (5)°. Cohesion within the crystal structure is accomplished by N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zr(C(12)H(18)N)(2)(C(4)H(10)N)(2)(C(4)H(11)N)] or [Zr(HNC(6)H(3) (i)Pr(2))(2)(NEt(2))(2)(HNEt(2))], which was obtained by the reaction of Zr(NEt)(4) with (i)Pr(2)C(6)H(3)NH(2), the Zr(IV) atom is in a trigonal-bipiramidal geometry in which the N atoms from two (i)Pr(2)C(6)H(3)NH and one NEt(2) ligand occupy the equatorial positions, and the N atoms of an NEt(2) and an Et(2)NH ligand occupy the apical positions. An intra-molecular N-H⋯N contact occurs. There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit.

Both naphthyridine ligands coordinate to the Co atom via two N atoms in a bidentate chelating mode. The remaining coordination sites are occupied by two Cl atoms. Two uncoordinated solvent methanol mol-ecules are hydrogen bonded to the Cl atoms. Additional N-H⋯O, C-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.664 (4) Å], give rise to a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(9)H(13)Br(2)ClNTe, was synthesized by reacting [2-(dimethyl-amino-meth-yl)phen-yl]tellurium(II) chlor-ide with Br(2). As a consequence, the Cl and Br atoms are not well ordered but distributed over the three possible positions such that the overall stiochiometry is two Br atoms and one Cl atom. The scrambling of the Br and Cl atoms indicates a small energy barrier for the exchange process between the apical and equatorial positions. Overall, the Te atom geometry is slightly distorted square pyramidal (τ = 0.052 for the major component). However, there is a weak secondary inter-action between the Te atoms and the disordered Br/Cl atoms of a nearby mol-ecule. The Te-Br and Te-Cl distances in both disorder components fall into two groups; a longer distance for the Br/Cl involved in this secondary inter-action [2.6945 (17) Å for Br and 2.601 (9)Å for Cl] and shorter bond distances to the remaining halogen atoms, indicating that this inter-action has slightly weakened the Te-X bond, as is the case in the previously reported tribromido structure [Singh et al. (1990). J. Chem. Soc. Dalton Trans. pp. 907-913]. Otherwise, the metrical parameters in the two structures are not significantly different. An intermolecular C-H⋯Br interaction occurs.
