ABSTRACT: The title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(11)H(15)N(3)O(2)Si)(2)]·C(3)H(7)NO, was synthesized from 5-nitro-1-trimethyl-silylmethyl-1H-benzimid-azole and cobalt(II) chloride in dimethyl-formamide. The Co(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral environment by two Cl atoms and two N atoms. In the crystal structure, there are a number of C-H?Cl and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between symmetry-related mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title complex, [CoCl(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·C(3)H(7)NO, which has twofold rotation symmetry, the Co(II) cation is coordinated by two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) mol-ecules and two chloride ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal structure, a cavity is created by six complex mol-ecules connected by C-H?? inter-actions and non-classical C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The cavities are occupied by the disordered dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule. The C and N atoms of the C-N bond in the solvent mol-ecule also lie on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis; the remaining atoms of the solvent are statistically disordered (ratio 0.5:0.5) about this axis.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(II)Cl(2)(C(6)H(10)N(2))(2)], a pair of 3,4,5-trimethyl-pyrazoles act as monodentate ligands. Two Cl(-) anions are also bonded directly to the Co(II) atom, which has a CoN(2)Cl(2) chromophore in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit are related by an approximate twofold rotation roughly parallel to the a axis. The amino H atom in the pyrazole ring participates in weak N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to form chains that propagate roughly parallel to the c axis.

Project description:The monomeric title zirconium(IV) compound, [Zr(C(12)H(21)N(2)Si)(2)Cl(2)], was prepared by the metathetical reaction of [LiN(SiMe(2)NMe(2))(2,6-Me(2)C(6)H(3))](2) with zirconium tetra-chloride. The Zr(IV) atom is N,N'-chelated by the N-silylated anilido ligand. Along with two Cl atoms, the six-coordinated Zr(IV) atom demonstrates a highly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The two ligands around the Zr(IV) atom are arranged cis to each other and obey the C(2) symmetry operation. That means the asymmetric unit consists of only half of the mol-ecular compound and the complete mol-ecule is generated by a twofold axis. The two ends of the N-Si-N chelating unit exhibit different affinities for the metal center. The Zr-N(amino) bond is longer than the Zr-N(anilido) bond.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(9)H(16)N(2)Si)(2)], the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral environment formed by two chloride ions and the pyridine N atoms of two chelating 6-methyl-2-[(trimethyl-silyl)amino]pyridine ligands. The dihedral angle between the planes of the pyridine rings is 80.06?(5)°. Cohesion within the crystal structure is accomplished by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds.

Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The methyl H atoms of the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule are disordered about a mirror plane.

Both naphthyridine ligands coordinate to the Co atom via two N atoms in a bidentate chelating mode. The remaining coordination sites are occupied by two Cl atoms. Two uncoordinated solvent methanol mol-ecules are hydrogen bonded to the Cl atoms. Additional N-H⋯O, C-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.664 (4) Å], give rise to a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The Zn atom in the title salt, [ZnCl(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]Cl·C(3)H(7)NO, is chelated by two phenanthroline mol-ecules and is bonded to one chloride ion and one water mol-ecule, resulting in a ZnN(4)ClO octa-hedral coordination environment with the Cl and O atoms in a cis conformation. The cations and anions are linked by O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds across a center of inversion, forming a hydrogen-bonded dimeric association. The dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two orientations in a 0.56 (1):0.44 (1) ratio.
