ABSTRACT: The title complex mol-ecule, [Sb(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(7)H(5)ClNO(2))(2)], possesses crystallographically imposed C(2) symmetry. The Sb atom exhibits a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry with the axial positions occupied by the O atoms of two carboxyl-ate groups and the equatorial positions by the C atoms of the phenyl groups. Intra-molecular N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur.

The environment of the Sb atom approximates a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with the axial positions occupied by the O atoms of symmetry-related 4-(trifluoro-meth-yl)benzoate ligands. In this ligand, the CF(3) group is disordered by rotation about the C-C bond and the F atoms are distributed over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.62?(3) and 0.38?(3). Project description:A new dinuclear triphenyl-anti-mony(V) derivative with an oxide bridge, [Sb(2)(C(6)H(5))(6)(C(6)H(3)ClNO(2))(2)O], has been synthesized. Each Sb atom is five-coordianted by three C atoms and two O atoms in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Metal centers are bridged by a μ(2)-oxide functionality, and phenyl substituents on Sb atoms are in an staggered arrangement. The Sb-O-Sb bridge displays a bent geometry with an angle of 165.1 (4)°. Mol-ecules inter-act in the crystal through weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N inter-molecular hydrogen bonds.
