ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Sb(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(7)H(5)ClNO(2))(2)], the Sb center has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with the O atoms of two carboxyl-ate groups in axial positions and the C atoms of the phenyl groups in equatorial positions. Intra-molecular C-H?O inter-actions occur. The mol-ecules are connected by inter-molecular N-H?O, N-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions and C-H?? stacking inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

Project description:The title complex, [Sb(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(8)H(4)F(3)O(2))(2)], is located on a twofold axis defined by the metal center and two C atoms of a coordinated phenyl group. The environment of the Sb atom approximates a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with the axial positions occupied by the O atoms of symmetry-related 4-(trifluoro-meth-yl)benzoate ligands. In this ligand, the CF(3) group is disordered by rotation about the C-C bond and the F atoms are distributed over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.62?(3) and 0.38?(3). Each Sb atom is five-coordianted by three C atoms and two O atoms in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Metal centers are bridged by a μ(2)-oxide functionality, and phenyl substituents on Sb atoms are in an staggered arrangement. The Sb-O-Sb bridge displays a bent geometry with an angle of 165.1 (4)°. Mol-ecules inter-act in the crystal through weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N inter-molecular hydrogen bonds.
