ABSTRACT: In the title methanol solvate, C(20)H(24)N(2)O(2)·CH(4)O, an L-shaped conformation is found as the two substituents at the central hydr-oxy group are almost orthogonal to each other [the C-C-C angle at the central sp(3)-C atom is 110.12?(13)°]. The most notable feature of the crystal packing is the formation of supra-molecular chains along the b direction mediated by O-H?N hydrogen bonds occurring between the hydr-oxy and quinoline N atoms; the methanol mol-ecules are linked to these chains via O-H?N(amine) hydrogen bonds. C-H?O inter-actions also occur.

Project description:The carb-oxy-lic acid mol-ecule of the title compound, C(11)H(20)NO(5)P·0.25CH(2)Cl(2), exists as a zwitterion with the H atom of the phospho-nate group being transferred to the imine N atom. In the asymmetric unit, there are two crystallographically independent acid mol-ecules adopting the same absolute configuration and differing slightly in their geometrical parameters. In each mol-ecule, the imino and carboxyl groups are connected via an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. Inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds induce the formation of layers parallel to the ab plane. The dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule, with a site occupancy of 0.5, is located between the layers.

Project description:The crystal of the title compound, C(21)H(23)NO(2), was chosen from a conglomerate formed by a racemic mixture. An intra-molecular hydrogen bond is formed between hy-droxy group and heterocyclic N atom of the aza-bicyclo-[3.2.1]octan-3-one system. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H?O inter-actions between aliphatic C-H groups and the carbonyl O atom. For the title chiral crystal, the highly redundant and accurate diffraction data set collected with low energy copper radiation gave a Flack parameter of 0.12?(18) for anomalous scattering effects originating from O atoms.

Project description:The crystal structure of the hydrated title salt, 2C6H13N2 (+)·S2O3 (2-)·2H2O, contains a centrosymmetric cyclic motif of eight hydrogen-bonded mol-ecular subunits. Two DABCOH(+) cations (DABCO = 1,4-di-aza-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octa-ne) are linked to two water mol-ecules and two thio-sulfate anions via O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, respectively. Two other water mol-ecules close the cyclic motif through O-H⋯O contacts to the first two water mol-ecules and to the two thio-sulfate anions. A second pair of DABCOH(+) cations is N-H⋯O hydrogen bonded to the two anions and is pendant to the ring. Adjacent cyclic motifs are bridged into a block-like arrangement extending along [100] through O-H⋯O inter-actions involving the second pair of water mol-ecules and neighbouring thio-sulfate anions.

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(13)FN(2)O(3), the fused piperidine ring is in a chair conformation. The fused pyrrolidine ring shows an envelope conformation with the N atom displaced by 0.661 (3) Å out of the plane formed by the four C atoms of the pyrrolidine ring. The dihedral angle between this plane and the plane formed by the four attached C atoms of the piperidine ring (not including the carbonyl C atom) is 67.63 (10)°. The F atom is disordered and was refined using a split model with an occupancy ratio of 0.910 (3): 0.080 (3).

Project description:The 1:1 co-crystallization of 1,4-di-aza-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) with 4-nitro-benzoic acid in ethanol-water (3/1) gave the salt dihydrate C6H13N2 (+)·C7H4NO4 (-)·2H2O, (1), whereas from methanol, the salt C6H14N2 (2+)·2C7H4NO4 (-), (2), was isolated. In (1), the cation and anion are linked by a strong N-H?O hydrogen bond, and the carboxyl-ate anion is close to planar [dihedral angle between terminal residues = 6.83?(9)°]. In (2), a three-ion aggregate is assembled by two N-H?O hydrogen bonds, and the carboxyl-ate anions are again close to planar [dihedral angles between terminal residues = 1.7?(3) and 5.9?(3)°]. Through the inter-vention of solvent water mol-ecules, which self-assemble into helical supra-molecular chains along the b axis, the three-dimensional architecture in (1) is stabilized by water-DABCO O-H?N and water-carboxyl-ate O-H?O hydrogen bonds, with additional stability afforded by C-H?O inter-actions. The global crystal structure comprises alternating layers of water mol-ecules and ion pairs stacked along the c axis. In the crystal of (2), the three-ion aggregates are assembled into a three-dimensional architecture by a large number of methyl-ene-carboxyl-ate/nitro C-H?O inter-actions as well as ?-? contacts between inversion-related benzene rings [inter-centroid distances = 3.5644?(16) and 3.6527?(16)?Å]. The cations and anions assemble into alternating layers along the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(12)O(7)P(2)·CH(4)O, is a monoesterified bis-phospho-nate (or 1-hydroxy-methyl-ene-1,1-bis-phospho-nic acid). These synthetic compounds are widely used in medicine to inhibit bone resorption in diseases like osteoporosis, and are characterized by a stable P-C-P group and are thus analogs of inorganic pyrophosphate. By masking one or several ionizable groups, introduced as phosphono-ester, it was anti-cipated the formation of prodrugs with higher lipophilicity that could facilitate the drug delivery and metabolization. Mol-ecules are paired by inter-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the phospho-nic groups. In addition, dimers are connected side-by-side, building infinite ribbons along the a-axis direction; these ribbons are cross-linked perpendicularly along the b-axis direction via a methanol solvent mol-ecule (disordered over two sites with occupancy factors ca 0.6 and 0.4), forming an extended inter-molecular hydrogen-bonded network. The H atoms of the methyl group in the main molecule are disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title cocrystal, 2C(24)H(18)ClNO(2)·C(6)H(12)N(2), the 1,4-diaza-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octane mol-ecule is located on a twofold rotation axis and linked to the two triaryl-imine mol-ecules by O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming a 2:1 aggregate. C-H?Cl inter-actions are also observed. In the triaryl-imine mol-ecule, the naphthalene ring system makes dihedral angles of 80.39?(6) and 82.35?(6)°, respectively, with the phenyl and benzene rings. The dihedral angle between these two latter rings is 87.09?(7)°.
