(Dimethyl sulfoxide-?O)di-phenyl-(3-thioxo-3H-1,2-dithiole-4,5-dithiol-ato-?S,S)tin(IV).

ABSTRACT: The Sn atom in the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(2)(C(3)S(5))(C(2)H(6)OS)], exists within a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by two S atoms of the 1,2-dithiole-3-thione-4,5-dithiol-ate dianion, two ipso-C atoms from the phenyl groups, and the O atom of the dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule. In this description, one of the S atoms and the O occupy axial positions. In the crystal, centrosymmetrically related mol-ecules associate via pairs of C-H?S contacts, forming dimeric aggregates.

The close approach of the pendant carbonyl O atoms [Sn-O = 2.577?(3) and 2.573?(3)?Å] increases the coordination number to six. Supra-molecular chains are formed along the a axis in the crystal structure owing to the presence of C-H?O contacts.

Project description:The asymmtric unit of the title compound, (C(27)H(50)N)[Ni(C(3)S(5))(2)], contains two N-benzyl-N,N-dimethyl-octa-decan-1-aminium cations, [BDA](+), and two [Ni(dmit)(2)](-) anions (dmit = 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiol-ate). The C(18) chains in both cations adopt almost ideal extended conformations. The Ni(III) atoms are coordinated by two S,S'-bidentate ligands, generating NiS(4) square planes. Short Ni?S [3.734?(2)?Å] and S?S contacts [3.5438?(15)?Å] occur in the crystal structure; if these are considered to be bonding inter-actions, then infinite sheets of anions parallel to (111) arise.

Project description:In the title salt, (C(13)H(10)N(3)O(2))[Ni(C(3)S(5))(2)], the Ni(III) cation is S,S'-chelated by two 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiol-ate anions in a distorted square-planar geometry. The complex anion is approximately planar with a maximum deviation of 0.097 (1) Å. In the 1-(4-nitro-benz-yl)-4-cyano-pyridinium cation, the pyridine ring is twisted at a dihedral angle of 73.84 (16)° with respect to the benzene ring. π-π stacking is observed between nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 4.71 (7)°] dithiole and benzene rings, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.791 (2) Å.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(16)H(13)FN)[Ni(C(3)S(5))(2)], consists of Ni(III) complex anions and 1-(2-fluoro-benz-yl)quinolinium (fbq) cations. In the complex anion, the Ni(III) cation is chelated by two 2-sulfanylidene-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiol-ate (dmit) dianions in a distorted square-planar geometry; the two dmit mean planes are twisted with respect to each other at a dihedral angle of 8.44 (3)°. In the fbq cation, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the quinoline ring system is 80.57 (14)°. The centroid-centroid distance of 3.860 (5) Å between benzene rings indicates π-π stacking between adjacent fbq cations. The distance of 3.4958 (18) Å between the S atom and the centroid of the pyridine ring suggests the existence of a lone-pair-aromatic inter-action between the anion and the cation. A short S⋯S contact [3.387 (2) Å] is also observed in the crystal structure.

There is half each of an [Ni(C(2)H(6)OS)(6)](2-) complex anion and an [Ni{(CH(3))(2)SO}(6)](2+) complex cation in the asymmetric unit. The i-mnt ligand coordinates in a bidentate manner to the Ni atom in the anion through the two chelating S atoms in an approximate square-planar geometry. The Ni atom in the complex cation has an octahedral coordination environment with six dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules as ligands.
