Di-μ-chlorido-bis-(chlorido{2,2'-[3-(1H-imidazol-4-ylmeth-yl)-3-aza-pentane-1,5-di-yl]diphthalimide}copper(II)).

ABSTRACT: The centrosymmetric dinuclear Cu(II) complex, [Cu(2)Cl(4)(C(24)H(21)N(5)O(4))(2)], was synthesized by the reaction of CuCl(2)·2H(2)O with the tripodal ligand 2,2'-[3-(1H-imid-azol-4-ylmeth-yl)-3-aza-pentane-1,5-di-yl]diphthalimide (L). Each of the Cu(II) ions is coordinated by two N atoms from the ligand, two bridging Cl atoms and one terminal Cl atom. The Cu(II) coordination can be best be described as a transition state between four- and five-coordination, since one of the bridging Cl atoms has a much longer Cu-Cl bond distance [2.7069 (13) Å] than the other [2.2630 (12) Å]. In addition, the Cu⋯Cu distance is 3.622 (1) Å. The three-dimensional structrure is generated by N-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.658 (4) and 4.020 (4) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(18)H(19)N(3)O(2))(2)]·2C(2)H(6)OS or [Cu(2)(SalenN(3)H)(2)]·2DMSO, where SalenN(3)H is the multidentate Schiff base 2,2'-[(3-aza-pentane-1,5-di-yl)bis-(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate dianion and DMSO is dimethyl sulfoxide, is a solvated dinuclear Cu(II) complex. The neutral complex is built from two Cu(SalenN(3)H) units related by an inversion center. All heteroatoms in the Schiff bases coordinate the Cu(II) ions, which display highly distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometries. The solvent mol-ecules are located in the structural voids of the complex and are disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.642 (15) and 0.358 (15). The previously characterized acetone disolvate of the same complex presents identical mol-ecular and crystal structures, and crystallizes with cell parameters very close to those of the DMSO disolvate reported here.

There are strong intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and a weak inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(9)H(14)NS)[CdCl(3)]}(n), consists of a linear [CdCl(3)](n) (n) (-) polyanion and a trimeth-yl(4-sulfanylphen-yl)aza-nium cation. The Cd(II) atom is penta-coordinated by four μ(2)-Cl atoms and one terminal Cl atom in a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The trigonal-bipyramidal units are linked by two opposite shared faces, giving rise to infinite [CdCl(3)](n) chains parallel to the a axis. The cations surround the chain and are linked to them by S-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:A tetra-nuclear ZnII complex, [Zn4(C13H11N6O)2Cl6(H2O)2] or {[Zn2(HL)(H2O)(Cl2)](μCl)2[Zn2(HL)(H2O)(Cl)]}2, was synthesized by mixing an equimolar amount of a methanol solution containing ZnCl2 and a methanol solution containing the ligand H2 L [1,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-ene)carbono-hydrazide]. In the tetra-nuclear complex, each of the two ligand mol-ecules forms a dinuclear unit that is connected to another dinuclear unit by two bridging chloride anions. In each dinuclear unit, one ZnII cation is penta-coordinated in a N2OCl2 in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, while the other ZnII cation is hexa-coordinated in a N3OCl2 environment with a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The basal plane around the penta-coordinated ZnII cation is formed by one chloride anion, one oxygen atom, one imino nitro-gen atom and one pyridine nitro-gen atom with the apical position occupied by a chloride anion. The basal plane of the hexa-coordinated ZnII cation is formed by one chloride anion, one hydrazinyl nitro-gen atom, one imino nitro-gen atom and one pyridine nitro-gen atom with the apical positions occupied by a water oxygen atom and a bridged chloro anion from another dinuclear unit, leading to a tetra-nuclear complex. A series of intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds is observed in each tetra-nuclear unit. In the crystal, the tetra-nuclear units are connected by inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a planar two-dimensional structure in the ac plane.

Project description:The title compound, C(29)H(30)N(2)O(4), adopts a distorted Z configuration with respect to the oxime group, which is almost coplanar with the adjacent naphthalene ring [dihedral angle = 4.11?(2)°]. There is one half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit, with a crystallographic twofold rotation axis passing through the central C atom of the -CH=N-O-(CH)(5)-O-N=CH- bridge. Within the mol-ecule, the dihedral angle formed by the two naphthalene rings is 79.08?(3)°, and there are two intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C29H37N5O4S2, two arms substituted with dansyl derivatives are connected to a central tertiary amine, where the dihedral angle between the planes of two dansyl units is 56.39 (4)°. Each arm contains a sulfonamide functional group and both N-H groups in the compound are pointed to the same side. The central part of the mol-ecule is disordered over three sets of sites with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.547 (4):0.328 (4):0.125 (3). No intra-molecular π-π or hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of N-H⋯O inter-actions involving the same acceptor atom, forming inversion dimers. In addition, C-H⋯O inter-actions exist between molecules, providing further stabilization of dimers.

The biim-5 ligand coordinates to two copper(II) cations, acting as a bridging ligand; as a result the copper(II) cations are connected to form an infinite chain structure. The polymeric chains are linked through a variety of hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional structure.

The Cd(II) atoms are connected alternately by the Cl atoms and bmei ligands, leading to a zigzag chain extending parallel to [011]. π-π inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.3016 (3) Å, help to stabilize the crystal packing.

Each BIMB ligand adopts a linear linker to connect Ni2+ ions, forming a two-dimensional layer with an sql network. In the crystal, neighboring layers repeat in an ABAB stacking mode, and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds between alternate layers lead to a three-dimensional, twofold inter-penetrated, supra-molecular framework with a pcu topology net.
