Potassium 2-[(2-carboxy-phen-yl)disulfan-yl]benzoate-2,2'-disulfanediyl-dibenzoic acid (1/1).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, K(+)·C(14)H(9)O(4)S(2) (-)·C(14)H(10)O(4)S(2), the hydrogen 2,2'-dithio-dibenzoate and 2,2'-disulfane-diyl-di-ben-zoic acid species combine to provide an O(6)S(2) donor set to the potassium cation based on a cubic geometry. K⋯S [3.1733 (7) and 3.5499 (8) Å] and K⋯O [2.6586 (16)-3.0661 (15) Å)] inter-actions, coupled with O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, lead to the formation of supra-molecular chains along [010].

Project description:With the exception of the terminal hydr-oxy group [N-C-C-O = 53.8?(5)°], the cation of the title salt hydrate, C(5)H(14)NO(+)·C(14)H(9)O(4)S(2) (-.)H(2)O, is a straight chain. A twisted conformation is found for the anion [C-S-S-C = -87.44?(16)°]. In the crystal, the anions self-assemble into a helical supra-molecular chain via charge-assisted O-H?O(c) hydrogen bonds. These chains are connected into a three-dimensional network via N-H?O(c), N-H?O(w), O(h)-H?O(cb), and O(w)-H?O(c) hydrogen-bonding inter-actions (c = carboxyl-ate, w = water, h = hydr-oxy and cb = carbon-yl).

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(14)H(9)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](C(14)H(9)O(4))·H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom of the complex cation is six-coordinated in an octa-hedral geometry by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two O atoms of a carboxyl-ate group from a singly deprotonated diphenic acid. The phenanthroline and carboxylate ligands act as chelating ligands. The dihedral angles between the two benzene rings in the deprotonated diphenic acid groups are 81.05 (2) (ligand) and 89.10 (2)° (anion). O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network.

It consists of 2-[(2-carb-oxy-phen-yl)disulfan-yl]benzoate anions, centrosymmetric 1,1'-(p-phenyl-enedimethyl-idene)diimidazol-3-ium cations and water mol-ecules. O-H?O, O-H?S and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions among the components lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, C(14)H(8)N(2)O(8)S(2), the asymmetric unit contains two independent 2,2'-dinitro-5,5'-dithio-dibenzoic acid (Dina) mol-ecules with roughly the same conformation. In the crystal structure, strong inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the organic mol-ecules into a one-dimensional zigzag chain along the a axis. The dihedral angles between the two aromatic rings [109.3 (2) and 103.1 (3)°] are larger than that (88.95°) observed in a structure of the compound with a solvent water mol-ecule [Shefter & Kalman (1969), J. Chem. Soc. D, p. 1027]. Such a difference may be explained by the occurrence of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecule in the previously reported structure.

Each end of the twisted diacid [dihedral angle between the benzene rings = 74.33 (17)°] forms a strong O-H⋯N hydrogen bond with a 2,9-dimethyl-phenanthroline mol-ecule, forming a trimeric aggregate. The crystal structure comprises layers of acid and THF mol-ecules, and layers of 2,9-dimethyl-phenanthroline mol-ecules that alternate along the a axis, the main connections between them being of the type C-H⋯O.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title co-crystal, C(14)H(14)N(4)S(2)·C(14)H(10)O(4)S(2), comprises a twisted 2,2'-(disulfanedi-yl)dibenzoic acid mol-ecule [dihedral angle between the benzene rings = 83.53 (14)°] and a U-shaped mol-ecule of N,N'-bis-(4-pyridyl-meth-yl)ethane-dithio-amide in which intra-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds are observed. Two mol-ecules of each form a centrosymmetric ring, with an extended chair conformation, mediated by carbox-yl-pyridine O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds between the carboxylic acid groups of two 2,2'-(disulfanediyl)dibenzoic acid molecules and pyridine-N atoms of two N,N'-bis(4-pyridylmethyl)ethanedithioamide molecules. The tetra-meric aggregates are linked into a supra-molecular chain along the b axis via amide-carbonyl N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
