Octa-rubidium di-?-sulfato-?O:O'-bis-[cis-dioxido-cis-disulfatotungstate(VI)].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, Rb(8)[W(2)O(4)(SO(4))(6)], was precipitated from a melt of tungsten(VI) oxide and rubidium sulfate in rubidium disulfate. The unit cell contains two discrete [{W(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(2)}(2)(?-SO(4))(2)](8-) units connected by Rb-O coord-ination. The W atom is octahedrally surrounded by two oxide ligands, two terminal sulfate ligands and two bridging sulfate groups. One Rb atom is coordinated by eight O atoms, whereas the three other Rb atoms are coordinated by nine O atoms from sulfate and oxide groups, leading to distorted [RbO(x)] polyhedra.

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, {Na(4)[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)]}(n), were grown from a melt of MoO(3) and Na(2)SO(4) in Na(2)S(2)O(7). In contrast to the structure of the isoformular K compound, K(4)[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)], with its monomeric anion, this sodium analogue contains a polymeric anion of the type {[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(2)-?-(SO(4))](4-)}(n). The Mo(VI) cations, surrounded by two tightly bonded O atoms and four O atoms of one bridging and two terminal sulfato ligands, form zigzag chains parallel to [100]. All four Na(+) cations are situated between the anionic chains and have distorted octa-hedral coordination spheres.

Project description:The title compound, K(4)[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)], was precipitated from a melt of molybdenum(VI) oxide and potassium sulfate in potassium disulfate. The compound contains monomeric [Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)](4-) anions, with the Mo(VI) atom, both oxide ligands, and the S atom and both ligating O atoms of the bidentate sulfate group lying on a crystallographic mirror plane. One of the potassium cations is nine-coordinate, while the other is eight-coordinate.

Tetra-pyridinium ?-oxido-di-?-sulfato-bis-[chloridodioxidomolybdate(VI)].

Project description:The title salt, (C(5)H(6)N)(4)[Mo(2)Cl(2)O(5)(SO(4))(2)], comprises four pyridinium cations for each [(MoClO(2))(2)(?-O)(?-SO(4))(2)](4-) anionic unit. The asymmetric unit consists of three aggregates of the empirical formula. The tetra-anionic bimetallic molybdenum(VI) cluster is unprecedented and contains two sulfate and one oxide bridges. This structure constitutes the first example of a non-polymeric compound with terminal oxide, sulfate and halide ligands bonded to the same metal. The hydrogen bonds connecting the pyridinium cations to the molybdenum clusters are diverse, varying from strong and directional interactions to bifurcated bonds with a subsequent loss of directionality.

Project description:The title compound, bis-[4,4'-(propane-1,3-di-yl)-dipiperidin-ium] ?-octa-molybdate(VI), (C(13)H(28)N(2))(2)[Mo(8)O(26)], was produced by hydro-thermal reaction of an acidified aqueous solution of Na(2)MoO(4)·2H(2)O and 4,4'-trimethyl-ene-dipiperidine (L). The structure of the title compound consists of ?-octa-molybdate(VI) anion clusters and protonated [H(2)L](2+) cations. The octa-molybdate anion is located around an inversion center. N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions ensure the cohesion of the structure and result in a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(5)H(6)N)(3)[MoCl(4)O(2)]Cl, the pyridinium cations are N-H?Cl hydrogen bonded to the anionic [MoCl(4)O(2)](2-) complexes and to the two crystallographically independent chloride anions (located on C2 axes). The Mo(6+) centre adopts a highly distorted octa-hedral geometry, being surrounded by four chloride and two terminal oxide groups. The oxide ligands are mutually cis.

Project description:The title hydrate, [Mo(2)Cl(2)O(5)(C(18)H(24)N(2))(2)]·0.2H(2)O, has been isolated as the oxidation product of [Mo(?(3)-C(3)H(5))Cl(CO)(2)(di-t-Bu-bipy)] (where di-t-Bu-bipy is 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine). A ?-oxide ligand bridges two similar MoCl(di-t-Bu-bipy)O(2) units, having the terminal oxide ligands mutually cis, and the chloride and ?-oxide trans to each other. In the binuclear complex, the coordination geometries of the metal atoms can be described as highly distorted octa-hedra. Individual complexes co-crystallize with a partially occupied water mol-ecule of crystallization (occupancy factor = 0.20; H atoms not located), with the crystal packing being mediated by the need to effectively fill the available space. A number of weak C-H?O and C-H?Cl inter-actions are present.

Project description:The title complex, [Fe(2)O(SO(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)]·8H(2)O, contains two unique Fe(III) cations, one oxide anion, four 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, two coordinated sulfate anions and eight lattice water mol-ecules. Each Fe(III) ion has an approximate octa-hedral geometry, coordinated by four N atoms from two phen mol-ecules, two O atoms from oxide and sulfate anions, respectively. The parallel phen mol-ecules form two-dimensional supermolecules through π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.684 (3), 3.711 (3), 3.790 (3), 3.847 (3), 3.746 (3), 3.732 (3) and 3.729 (3) Å]. This architecture is further stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the lattice water mol-ecules and sulfate O atoms.

Project description:The title compound, [(UO(2))(2)Cl(2)(OH)(2)(H(2)O)(4)], was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempted reaction between uranium(VI) oxide dihydrate, UO(3)·2H(2)O, and hydrogen bis-(trifluoro-methyl-sulfon-yl)imide (HTf(2)N), in an experiment to obtain crystals of uranyl bis-(trifluoro-methyl-sulfon-yl)imide, UO(2)(Tf(2)N)(2)·xH(2)O. The structure consists of neutral dimers of uranyl (UO(2) (2+)) units, double bridged by OH(-) anions. Each uranyl unit is surrounded by one Cl and four O atoms, which form an irregular penta-gon, in a plane perpendicular to the linear uranyl groups. The coordination geometry around each U atom can be considered to be distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal. In the crystal structure the uranyl dimers are connected to each other by hydrogen-bonding inter-actions [O?Cl = 3.23?(1)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Mo(C(27)H(38)N(4)O(2))O(2)], the Mo(VI) atom is coordinated by two oxide O atoms and by two O and two N atoms of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Mo-N bond trans to a terminal oxide group is significantly longer than the other Mo-N bond, which is attributed to the strong trans effect of the oxide O atom. The dihedral angle formed between the substituted benzene rings is 71.79?(14)°. One of the ethyl groups is disordered over two sets of sites, with a refined site-occupancy ratio of 0.588?(18):0.412?(18).

Project description:In the title compound, {(C(20)H(20)N(4))(2)[Mo(8)O(26)]}(n), the asymmetric unit contains half of an [Mo(8)O(26)](4-) anion and one 3,3'-[(biphenyl-4,4'-di-yl)dimethyl-ene]diimidazol-1-ium dication. In the anion, four distorted [MoO(6)] octa-hedra are connected via edge-sharing, forming an [Mo(4)O(13)](2-) building block, composed of Mo-O(t), Mo-O(?2), Mo-O(?3) and Mo-O(?4) units, with Mo-O distances ranging from 1.6858?(15) to 2.4785?(13)?Å. The ?-type [Mo(8)O(26)](4-) anion is completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry and is linked into an infinite chain along [100] by corner-sharing. The anionic chains and the cations are joined by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating layers extending parallel to (001).
