ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(C(9)H(6)N(3)O(3)S)(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by four water mol-ecules in equatorial positions and two N atoms from two 4-(4-pyrid-yl)pyrimidine-2-sulfonate ligands in apical positions. The asymmetric unit contains half of the complex and one free water mol-ecule. The water mol-ecules, including the uncoordinated water mol-ecules, and sulfonate O atoms are involved in O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ag(3)(C(9)H(6)N(3)O(3)S)(3)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the mol-ecules are linked into three-decked polymeric zigzag chains propagating in [100]. On the middle deck, the Ag atom is five-coordinated by three O atoms from three 4-(3-pyrid-yl)pyrimidine-2-sulfonate (L) ligands, one of which lies on a mirror plane with the sulfonate group disordered over two orientations in a 1:1 ratio, and two N atoms from two L ligands, which lie on the same mirror plane. On the upper and lower decks, the Ag atom is four-coordinated by an aqua ligand, one O and two N atoms from two L ligands with the pyridyl and pyrimidine rings twisted at 19.8?(2)°. In the polymeric chain, there are ?-? inter-actions between six-membered rings of L ligands from different decks with centroid-centroid distances of 3.621?(7) and 3.721?(3)?Å. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link further these three-decked chains into layers parallel to (010).

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of Zn(CH(3)COO)(2)·2H(2)O with 3-(2H-tetra-zol-5-yl)pyridine. The Zn(II) ion is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two 5-(3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolide ligands and four coordinated water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and tetra-zole rings is 9.920?(7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the tetra-zole group N atoms, the aqua ligands and solvent water mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title dinuclear Cu(II) complex, [Cu(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(C(12)H(10)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the water-coordinated Cu(II) cation is O,N,O'-chelated by a pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate (pdc) dianion, and one pyridine N atom from a 1,2-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)ethene ligand coordinates to the Cu(II) cation, completing the CuN(2)O(3) distorted square-pyriamidial geometry. The Cu-O(water) bond [2.388?(4)?Å] in the axial direction is much longer than the other Cu-O bonds. The 1,2-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)ethene ligand is located across an inversion center with the mid-point of the C=C bond at the inversion center, and bridges two Cu(II) cations, generating a centrosymmetric dinuclear complex. The crystal structure is stabilized by classical O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

In the two ligands, the pyridyl rings form dihedral angles of 21.0?(1) and 15.5?(1)°. The crystal packing exhibits an extensive network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions proved by short distances of 3.650?(1) and 3.732?(2)?Å between the centroids of pyridyl rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.

The Mn(II) ion exhibits a centrosymmetric octa-hedral geometry involving two carboxyl-ate O atoms of two different pztmb ligands and four O atoms of four coordinated water mol-ecules. The packing shows a three-dimensional supra-molecular network via O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.884?(8) and 4.034?(8)?Å] between the benzene ring of one pztmb anion and the pyrazine ring of an adjacent anion.
