ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C(3)H(5)N(2))[Co(C(4)H(5)NO(4))(2)], the cation and anion are located on a twofold rotation axis and inversion center, respectively. Inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into layers parallel to the ab plane. The crystal packing also exhibits weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, including bifurcated hydrogen bonds, and C=O?? inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Pb(2)(C(4)H(5)NO(4))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(4)S(2))(2)]·4H(2)O, the dinuclear Pb(II) complex mol-ecule is centrosymmetric. The Pb atom is chelated by a tridentate imino-diacetate anion (IDA) and a diamino-bithia-zole (DABT) ligand, while a carboxyl-ate O atom from an adjacent IDA anion further bridges the Pb atom with a longer Pb-O bond [2.892?(3)?Å]. The lone-pair electrons of the Pb atom occupy an axial site in the ?-penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination polyhedron. The IDA anion displays a facial configuration: its chelating five-membered rings assume an envelope configuration. Within the DABT ligand, the two thia-zole rings are twisted relative to each other, making a dihedral angle of 9.51?(17)°. Extensive N-H?O, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonding helps to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound (C(17)H(17)N(2))(2)[Fe(2)Cl(6)O], obtained from the solid-state reaction of FeCl(2) and N,N'-dibenzyl-imidazolium chloride, the complex anion has approximate D(3d) symmetry with crystallographically imposed inversion symmetry coincident with the bridging μ-O atom. The stereochemistry about each FeCl(3)O centre is distorted tetra-hedral [Fe-Cl = 2.2176 (5)-2.2427 (5) Å and Fe-O = 1.7545 (2) Å]. The Cl atoms are involved in weak anion-cation C-H⋯Cl inter-actions, giving a network structure.

Project description:In the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, (C3H5N2)[Cr(C2O4)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, the complete cation is generated by a crystallographic twofold rotation axis, with one C atom lying on the rotation axis. The complete anion is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry (Cr(III) site symmetry -1), to generate a slightly distorted CrO6 octa-hedron with trans water mol-ecules and chelating oxalate dianions. The oxalate ion is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.017?Å) and the five-membered chelate ring is a shallow envelope with the metal ion displaced by 0.126?(1)?Å from the ligand atoms. The crystal structure features O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the components into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, (C(13)H(10)N)(2)[Co(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·6H(2)O, consists of mononuclear trans-[Co(pz-2,3-dc)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2-) complex anions, (acrH)(+) cations and uncoordinated water mol-ecules (acr is acridine and pz-2,3-dcH(2) is pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid). The Co(II) atom, which lies on a crystallographic center of symmetry, has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment, with two N and two O atoms from the (pz-2,3-dc)(2-) ligands in the equatorial plane and with two water mol-ecules in axial positions. In the crystal, the components are held together by two distinct N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds with R(2) (2)(8) graph-sets. The coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are also involved in O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which lead to the formation of layers with R(3) (3)(12) graph-set motifs. Extensive ?-? stacking inter-actions between parallel aromatic rings of the acridinium ions, with distances ranging from 3.533?(1) to 3.613?(1)?Å, occur in the structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(23)H(33)N(2))[FeCl(4)], consists of 1,3-bis-(1-adamant-yl)imidazolium (BAIM) cations and tetra-hedral tetra-chloridoferrate(III) (TCF) anions. The BAIM cation possesses m symmetry, with the central imidazole ring and four C atoms of each terminal adamantyl group located on a mirror plane. The Fe and two Cl atoms of the TCF anion are also located on the mirror plane. The cyclo-hexane rings of the adamantyl groups adopt normal chair conformations.

Project description:The title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(2)[Co(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·8H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of CoCl(2)·6H(2)O with 1,4-pyrazine-2,3-dicarb-oxy-lic acid and 2-amino-6-methyl-pyridine in aqueous solution (molar ratio 1:2:2). The Co(II) ion is situated on an inversion centre and is coordinated by two O and two N atoms of two symmetry-related 1,4-pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two water mol-ecules and has a disorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The asymmetric unit also contains four water mol-ecules. In the crystal, extensive inter-molecular classical N-H?O, O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.490?(1)?Å] connect the various components, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(III)(NH?)?]?[Co(II)(C?O?)?]?Cl·12H?O, was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit comprises two [Co(NH?)?]³? cations, one located on a threefold axis and the other on a site of symmetry -3, a [Co(C?O?)?]?? anion, located on a threefold axis, one sixth of a chloride anion [disordered over two sites, one threefold (site occupancy = 0.5) and the other -3 (site occupancy (0.25)] and two water molecules. Both Co(III) centers are six-coordinated by NH? mol-ecules, forming [Co(NH?)?]³? octa-hedra, with Co-N distances in the range 1.958?(2)-1.977?(3)?Å. The title structure gives the first example of the [Co(C?O?)?]?? anion, with the distorted octa-hedral environment of Co(II) center formed by six O atoms from three oxalate residues. The Co-O bond lengths are 2.0817?(18) to 2.0979?(18)?Å. Multiple N-H?O, N-H?Cl and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cations, anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.
