Octa-methyldi-?(3)-oxido-bis-(?(2)-thio-phene-3-acetato-?O:O')(thio-phene-3-acetato-?O)tetra-tin(IV).

ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Sn(4)(CH(3))(8)(C(6)H(5)O(2)S)(4)O(2)], the central four-membered planar ring (Sn(2)O(2)) makes dihedral angles of 66.28?(12) and 77.43?(11)° with the heterocyclic rings of the bridging and monodentate ligands, respectively. One Sn(IV) atom adopts a distorted SnO(3)C(2) trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with both C atoms in equatorial sites and the other a grossly distorted SnO(4)C(2) octa-hedral or irregular arrangement. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are connected into pillar-like polymeric units making R(2) (2)(12) ring motifs due to inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions. C-H?? inter-actions are also present. The O atoms of the chelating ligands and the S atom of the monodentate ligand are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.65?(6):0.35?(6) ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(4)(C(7)H(6)Cl)(8)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)O(2)(OH)(2)], comprises one-half of the centrosymmetric tin(IV) complex. ?(3)-Oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide bridges link the four five-coordinate Sn(IV) atoms to generate three fused four-membered Sn-O-Sn-O rings in a ladder-like structure. The two endocyclic Sn atoms each bind to two ?(3)-oxide anions and a ?(2)-hydroxide ligand, together with two 2-chloro-benzyl groups. The exocyclic Sn atoms each carry a monodentate phenyl-acetate ligand, two 2-chloro-benzyl groups, and ?(3)-oxide and ?(2)-hydroxide ligands. Both types of Sn atoms adopt a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?O inter-actions involving the ?(2)-hydroxide ligands and the C=O group of the phenyl-acetate ligand.

Project description:In the title co-crystal, [Sn(4)(CH(3))(8)Cl(4)O(2)]·2[Sn(CH(3))(2)Cl(C(4)H(8)NS(2))], all the Sn(IV) atoms are in distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environments. In the mononuclear species, the carbodithio-ate ligand is unsymmetrically coordinated to the Sn(IV) atom, with Sn-S distances of 2.6722?(12) and 2.4706?(11)?Å. All atoms with the exception of the methyl groups and one of the pyrrolidine ring CH(2) groups lie on a crystallographic mirror plane. The pyrrolidine ring exhibits an envelope conformation; the C atom at the flap is disordered above and below the plane of symmetry with fixed occupation factors of 0.50. The centrosymmetric dimer species consists of a central Sn(2)O(2) unit with two adjacent Sn(2)OCl four-membered rings.

Project description:In the title tetra-nuclear tin(IV) complex, [Sn(4)(CH(3))(8)(C(20)H(22)N(2)O(4))Cl(2)O(2)], there are three completely different tin-atom coordinations. One metal atom (site symmetry 2) adopts a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal SnC(2)N(2)O(3) coordination arising from the N,N',O,O'-tetra-dentate deprotonated Schiff base, two methyl groups in the axial sites and a ?(3)-O atom that also bonds to two further Sn atoms. Two symmetry-equivalent Sn atoms adopt very distorted SnC(2)O(4) arrangements that could be described as penta-gonal-bipyramidal with one equatorial vertex missing and the C atoms in the axial site. The final Sn atom (site symmetry 2) adopts an SnC(2)Cl(2)O trigonal-bipyramidal arrangement, with Cl atoms in the axial sites. As well as the two Sn atoms, one O atom lies on a twofold rotation rotation axis, and another is disordered about the axis. The terminal eth-oxy group is disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancy.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(4)(CH(3))(8)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)O(2)], is a distann-oxane derivative of 2-methyl-benzoic acid. The crystal structure is composed of centrosymmetric dimers lying about inversion centres. Both independent Sn atoms adopt distorted trigonal-bipyramidal SnC(2)O(3) coordination geometries with the basal planes consisting of two C-atoms from the methyl groups and a bridging O atom. The Sn-C and Sn-O bond lengths lie in the ranges 2.090?(2)-2.104?(3) and 2.0241?(14)-2.2561?(15)?Å, respectively. The central four-membered planar Sn(2)O(2) ring [Sn?Sn distance = 3.2993?(2)?Å] makes dihedral angles of 5.43?(11) and 59.50?(7)° with the methyl-phenyl groups, which are themselves oriented at a dihedral angle of 61.38?(8)°. Besides weak C-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions, the packing mainly features van der Waals forces between the mol-ecules.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional layer parallel to the ab plane by inter-molecular N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and further stabilized by a ?-? inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6489?(11)?Å]. Intra-molecular N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the mol-ecular structure. Two of the butyl groups are each disordered over two sets of sites with site-occupancy ratios of 0.510?(4):0.490?(4) and 0.860?(5):0.140?(5).

Both the two independent Sn atoms are five-coordinate, with distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometries. One Sn atom is coordinated by two O atoms of the carboxyl-ate anions, one bridging O atom and two butyl groups and the other Sn atom is coordinated by an O atom of the carboxyl-ate anion, two bridging O atoms and two butyl groups. All the butyl groups are equatorial with respect to the SnO(3) trigonal plane. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, pairs of inter-molecular bifurcated acceptor N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains along [10]. Weak inter-molecular C-H?? and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.713?(2)?Å] are also observed.

One Sn atom is coordinated by two butyl groups, one O atom of the benzoate anion and two bridging O atoms, whereas the other Sn atom is coordinated by two butyl groups, two O atoms of the benzoate anions and a bridging O atom. The O atoms of the bridging benzoate anion are disordered over two sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.862?(12):0.138?(12). One of the butyl groups coordinated to the Sn(2)O(2) ring is disordered over two sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.780?(8):0.220?(8), whereas both of the two butyl groups coordinated to the other Sn atom are disordered over two sites with occupancy ratios of 0.788?(5):0.212?(5) and 0.827?(10):0.173?(10). All the butyl groups are equatorial with respect to the SnO(3) trigonal plane. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are stacked down [010] with weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions stabilizing the crystal structure.
