ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Sn(C(4)H(9))(3)(C(6)H(5)O(2)S)](n), possesses an infinite chain structure. The SnO(2)C(3) centre has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry (? = 0.145) with the O atoms in the axial positions. Atoms of the thio-phene group S1 and C4 are disordered over two sites The S atom and one C atom, with attached H atom, of the thiophene ring are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.7 and 0.3.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Sn(4)(CH(3))(8)(C(6)H(5)O(2)S)(4)O(2)], the central four-membered planar ring (Sn(2)O(2)) makes dihedral angles of 66.28 (12) and 77.43 (11)° with the heterocyclic rings of the bridging and monodentate ligands, respectively. One Sn(IV) atom adopts a distorted SnO(3)C(2) trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with both C atoms in equatorial sites and the other a grossly distorted SnO(4)C(2) octa-hedral or irregular arrangement. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are connected into pillar-like polymeric units making R(2) (2)(12) ring motifs due to inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions. C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present. The O atoms of the chelating ligands and the S atom of the monodentate ligand are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.65 (6):0.35 (6) ratio.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(C4H9)2(C2O4)] n , an unexpected side product in the reaction of di-tert-butyl-tin(IV) oxide with nitric acid, represents the first diorganotin(IV) oxalate to be structurally characterized. The Sn(IV) atom of the one-dimensional coordination polymer is located on a mirror plane and is coordinated by two chelating oxalate ions with two rather different Sn-O bond lengths of 2.150 (1) and 2.425 (1) Å, and two t-butyl groups with Sn-C bond lengths of 2.186 (2) and 2.190 (2) Å. The coordination polyhedron around the Sn(IV) atom is a distorted tetra-gonal disphenoid. The centrosymmetric oxalate ion also has an asymmetric coordination geometry, as reflected by the two slightly different C-O bond lengths of 1.242 (2) and 1.269 (2) Å. The chains of the polymer propagate along the b-axis direction. Only van der Waals inter-actions are observed between the chains.

The presence of two bulky tert-butyl groups on the benzene ring prevents any hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the hydroxyl substituents.

Project description:In the title one-dimensional coordination polymer, [Sn(CH3)3(C8H6NO4)] n , the Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by three methyl C atoms and two carboxyl-ate O atoms (one symmetry generated), resulting in an almost regular SnC3O2 trigonal pyramid. The C atoms occupy the equatorial sites and the O atoms occupy the axial sites. In the ligand, the dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the pendant acetate and nitro groups are 57.7 (1) and 36.9 (3)°, respectively. The bridging ligand leads to [010] chains in the crystal, with adjacent metal atoms related by a 21 screw axis. A weak π-π inter-action exists between the centroids of symmetry-related benzene rings at a distance of 3.9131 (19) Å.

The S and C atoms of the thio-phene rings in both mol-ecules are disordered over two sites with site-occupancy factors 0.799?(9)/0.201?(9) and 0.618?(7)/0.382?(7), respectively.

Project description:The crystal structure of the polymeric title compound, [Sn(C6H5)3(C12H10NO4)] n , comprises polymeric chains whereby adjacent Sn atoms are bridged by carboxyl-ate and amide carbonyl O atoms [Sn-O = 2.115 (15) and 2.653 (1) Å, respectively]. The Sn(IV) atom is five-coordinated showing a distorted trigonal-bipyramid geometry, with the three phenyl ipso-C atoms defining the trigonal plane and the axial positions occupied by O atoms [O-Sn-O = 171.91 (5)°]. Intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding leads to a seven-membered loop. There is an intra-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action within the polymeric chain. An inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action along c links the polymeric chains into sheets which are linked into a three-dimensional network via C-H⋯π inter-actions.
