Disodium dihydrogen pyridine-2,3,5,6-tetra-carboxyl-ate trihydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, 2Na(+)·C(9)H(3)NO(8) (2-)·3H(2)O, the asymmetric unit consists of two Na(+) cations, one dihydrogen pyridine-2,3,5,6-tetra-carboxyl-ate dianion (H(2)pdtc(2-)) and three water mol-ecules coordinated to the Na(+) cations. The configuration of the anion is stabilized by intramolecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding between vicinal carboxylate/carboxy groups. The Na(+) cations are bridged by the H(2)pdtc(2-) dianions, generating layers extending infinitely in sheets parallel to (001), and further pillared by the water mol-ecule linkers to build up a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](C(7)H(3)NO(4))·3H(2)O}(n), consists of Co(II) polymeric complex cations, uncoordinated pyridine-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions and lattice water mol-ecules. The Co(II) cation is coordinated by two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipyridine ligands and four water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The 4,4'-bipyridine ligands bridge Co cations, forming a polymeric chain running along the b axis. The two pyridine rings of the 4,4'-biyridine are twisted to each other by a dihedral angle of 8.95 (9)°. Extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding network is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(10)H(26)N(4) (2+)·2C(6)H(4)NO(2) (-)·2H(2)O, consists of half of a doubly protonated 1,4,8,11-tetra-azacyclo-tetra-decane (cyclam) dication, a pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate anion and a solvent water mol-ecule. The complete dication is generated by a crystallographic centre and adopts an endodentate conformation which may be influenced by intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonding. The carboxyl-ate group of the anion appears to be delocalized on the basis of the C-O bond lengths [1.257?(2) and 1.250?(2)?Å]. In the crystal structure, the components are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O, N-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title co-crystal, C(22)H(16)O(10)·C(22)H(18)O(8), the independent tetra-methyl 9,10-dihydro-9,10-dioxoanthracene-2,3,6,7-tetra-carboxyl-ate, (I), and tetra-methyl anthracene-2,3,6,7-tetra-carboxyl-ate, (II), components occupy separate crystallographic inversion centers. In (II), the dihedral angles between the mean aromatic plane and the two independent carboxyl-ate planes are 41.32 (10) and -38.35 (10)°. The methyl-carboxyl-ate groups of (I) are disordered, with each resolvable into two groups. In the least disordered carboxyl-ate, the apparent angles between the mean aromatic plane and the two partial carboxyl-ate planes [site occupations = 0.510 (3) and 0.490 (3)] are 16.8 (3) and 23.3 (3)°. In the highly disordered group, the apparent angles between the mean aromatic plane and the two partial carboxyl-ate planes [site occupations = 0.510 (3) and 0.490 (3)] are 78.3 (3) and -74.1 (3)°. In addition, this extreme disorder leads to an artificially elongated C(aromatic)-C(carbox-yl) bond.

Project description:In the title complex, [Co(NCS)(2)(C(8)H(9)NO(2))(4)], the Co(II) atom is six-coordinated by four N atoms from four ethyl pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate ligands in the equatorial plane and two N atoms of thio-cyanate ligands in the axial positions, showing a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The structure exhibits disorder in one of the ethyl chains, which was refined using a two-site model with 0.70?(6):0.30?(6) occupancy.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(BF(4))(C(14)H(12)N(2)O(4))](n), the coordination of the Ag(+) ion is trigonal-bipyramidal with the N atoms of two ethane-1,2-diyl bis-(pyridine-3-carboxyl-ate) ligands in the apical positions and three F atoms belonging to different tetra-fluorido-borate anions in the equatorial plane. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(14)H(11)NO(3), isolated from the reaction of 2-bromo-1-phenyl-ethanone and pyridine-4-carboxylic acid using triethyl-amine as a base to deprotonate the organic acid, the mol-ecular packing is stabilized by C-H?? inter-actions involving the phenyl and pyridine rings. Project description:The title compound. C(15)H(14)N(2)O(4), (I), has a gauche-gauche (O/C/C/C-O/C/C/C or GG) conformation and is a positional isomer of propane-1,3-diyl bis-(pyridine-3-carboxyl-ate), (II). The mol-ecule of (I) lies on a twofold rotation axis, which passes through the central C atom of the aliphatic chain, giving one half-mol-ecule per asymmetric unit. There is excellent agreement of the geometric parameters of (I) and (II). The most obvious differences between them are the O/C/C/C-O/C/C/C torsion angles [56.6?(2)° in (I) and 174.0?(3)/70.2?(3)° in (II) for GG and TG conformations, respectively] and the dihedral angle between the planes of the aromatic rings [80.3?(10)° in (I) and 76.5?(3)° in (II)]. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H? N and C-H? O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:Mol-ecules of the title compound (alternative name: butane-1,4-diyl dinicotinate), C(16)H(16)N(2)O(4), lie on a inversion centre, located at the mid-point of the central C-C bond of the aliphatic chain, giving one half-mol-ecule per asymmetric unit. The butane chain adopts an all-trans conformation. The dihedral angle between the mean plane of the butane-3-carboxyl-ate group [for the non-H atoms, maximum deviation = 0.0871?(15)?Å] and the pyridine ring is 10.83?(7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules lie in planes parallel to (122). The structure features weak ?-? inter-actions with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.9281?(11)?Å.
