ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(7)H(8)BNO(3), the mol-ecule lies on an inversion center leading to a statistical disorder of the B(OH)(2) and CONH(2) groups. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to the bc plane. The B(OH)(2) and CONH(2) groups are twisted out of the mean plane of the benzene ring by 23.9?(5) and 24.6?(6)°, respectively.

The dihydroxy-boron group is not coplanar with the benzene ring bonded to the B atom; one of the C-C-B-O torsion angles is 32.39?(2)°. One of the OH groups of the boronic acid fragment is engaged in an intra-molecular hydrogen bond, whereas the second OH group participates in inter-molecular hydrogen bonding, which leads to the formation of centrosymmetric dimers.

Project description:The boronic acid group in the title compound, C11H11BN2O3, adopts a syn-anti conformation and is almost coplanar with the aromatic rings , making a dihedralangle of 3.8?(2)°. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked via pairs of O-H?O inter-actions, forming centrosymmetric dimers with an R 2 (2)(8) motif, which have recently been shown to be energetically very favorable (Durka et al., 2012 ?, 2014 ?). The hy-droxy groups in an anti conformation are engaged in lateral hydrogen-bonding inter-actions with N atoms from neighbouring mol-ecules, leading to the formation of chains along [001]. O?B [3.136?(2)?Å] and C(?)?B [3.393?(2)?Å] stacking inter-actions in turn link parallel chains of centrosymmetric dimers into layers parallel to (010).

Project description:In the title compound, C8H9BO4, the meth-oxy-carbonyl group is rotated out of the plane of the benzene ring by 7.70 (6)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, involving the boronic acid OH groups, forming inversion dimers. The dimers are linked via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, involving a boronic acid OH group and the carbonyl O atom, forming undulating sheets parallel to (10-2). Within the sheets there are also C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds present, also involving the carbonyl O atom. Two forms of (naphthalen-1-yl)boronic acid.

Project description:Two polymorphs of the title compound, C10H9BO2, were prepared by recystallization from different solvents at room temperature. Both forms demonstrate nearly identical mol-ecular structures with all naphthalene group atoms located in one plane and all boronic acid atoms in another: the dihedral angles between these planes are 39.88?(5) and 40.15?(5)° for the two asymmetric mol-ecules of the ortho-rhom-bic form and 40.60?(3)° for the single asymmetric mol-ecule in the monoclinic form. In each extended structure, mol-ecules form dimers, connected via two O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The dimers are connected by further O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming layered networks in the (001) plane and the (100) plane in the ortho-rhom-bic and monoclinic forms, respectively. The resulting layers are practically identical in both forms. However, these layers are shifted along the [010] axis in the two forms, resulting in a slightly more effective packing for monoclinic structure (packing index = 0.692) compared to the ortho-rhom-bic form (0.688).

Project description:In the title compound, [PdCl(2)(C(5)H(6)BNO(2))(2)]·2C(2)H(6)OS, the Pd(II) ion is located on an inversion centre and is four-coordinated in a trans square-planar geometry by two chloride ions and two (pyridin-4-yl)boronic acid ligands. The Pd-N and Pd-Cl distances are 2.023 (2) and 2.2977 (7) Å, respectively, and the average N-Pd-Cl angle is 90°. The dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules play a key role in the crystal structure by bridging the complex mol-ecules via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming tapes running along the b axis. C-H⋯O inter-actions also contribute to the cohesion of the crystal.
