Bis[3-dimethyl-amino-1-(2-pyrid-yl)prop-2-en-1-one-?N,O]tris-(nitrato-?O,O')praseodymium(III).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Pr(NO(3))(3)(C(10)H(12)N(2)O)(2)], the Pr(III) ion is ten-coordinated by two N and two O atoms from two bidentate 3-(dimethyl-amino)-1-(2-pyrid-yl)prop-2-en-1-one ligands and by six O atoms from three nitrate anions in a distorted bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. An extensive three-dimensional network of weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds consolidates the crystal packing.

In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The ethanol solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two positions in a ratio 0.615?(16):0.385?(16).

Project description:In the title compound, [Pr(C(32)H(30)N(2)O(6))(NO(3))]·CHCl(3), the Pr(III) ion is ten-coordinated by eight O atoms and two N atoms from the acyclic crown-type Schiff base ligand and the bidentate nitrate group. The coordination polyhedron around Pr(III) is a distorted bicapped square anti-prism. The chloro-form solvent mol-ecule is not involved either in coordination to the Pr(III) center or in hydrogen bonding to the complex. The Pr-O(phenolate) bonds are significantly shorter than the Pr-O(ether) and Pr-O(nitrate) bonds, which suggests that the Pr-O(phenolate) bond is stronger than these other bonds. In the crystal structure, the acyclic crown-type Schiff base ligand wraps around the Pr(III) centre, forming a pseudo-ring.

Project description:The mononuclear title complex, [Pr(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(NO(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], is isostructural with related complexes of other lanthanides. The Pr(III) atom is in a pseudo-bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry, formed by four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands and six O atoms, four from two 2,6-dihy-droxy-benzoate (DHB) ligands and the other two from nitrate anions. ?-? stacking inter-actions between the phen and DHB ligands [centroid-centroid distances = 3.518?(2) and 3.778?(2)?Å] and the phen and phen ligands [face-to-face separation = 3.427?(6)?Å] of adjacent complexes stabilize the crystal structure. Intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed in the DHB ligands.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ho(NO(3))(3)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the ten-coordinate Ho(III) ion is chelated by four N atoms from two phenanthroline (phen) ligands and six O atoms from three bidentate nitrate groups. The environment around the Ho atom can be described as a distorted bicapped square anti-prism. Two phenanthroline ligands form a dihedral angle of 43.72 (13)°. Short inter-molecular distances between the centroids of the six-membered rings [3.6887 (14)-3.8374 (16) Å] indicate the existence of π-π inter-actions, which link the mol-ecules into stacks extended in the [10] direction. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
