ABSTRACT: In the title centrosymmetric dinuclear complex, [Tm(2)(C(10)H(11)O(4))(6)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the unique Tm(III) ion is coordin-ated by five 3,4-dimethoxy-phenyl-acetate (DMPA) ligands and and a bis-chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand via seven O atoms and two N atoms, forming a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic environment. The DMPA ligands coordin-ate in the bis-chelate, bridging and bridging tridentate modes.

The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions and weak aromatic π-π inter-actions between phen mol-ecules and the aromatic rings of the L ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.821 (2) Å].

Each of the four phenoxy-acetate anions bridges the pair of Mn atoms. The asymmetric unit is completed by a half-occupancy methanol solvent mol-ecule. Face-to-face π-π stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings of 1,10-phenanthroline molecules belonging to adjacent Mn(2) complexes, with an inter-planar separation of circa 3.4 Å, and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the dinuclear units into a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The coordination geometry at the Pr(III) atom is distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic. One phenyl ring is disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.6 and 0.4.
