Di-?-azido-?N:N-bis-{aqua-[bis-(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylmeth-yl)amine]-copper(II)} dinitrate.

ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(N(3))(2)(C(16)H(15)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2), the Cu(II) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment with long axial Cu-N(azide) [2.821?(6)?Å] and Cu-O(water) [2.747?(5)?Å] bonds as a result of the Jahn-Teller effect. Two symmetry-related azide ligands bridge in ?(2)-modes giving a Cu?Cu distance of 3.533?(2)?Å. In the crystal, N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network. In addition, there are weak inter-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances ranging from 3.562?(2) to 3.974?(2)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(16)H(14)N(5))(2)]Cl(2)·2CH(4)O·2H(2)O, the cationic metal complex resides on a crystallographic centre of inversion, with the Cu(2+) bonded to two bis-(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylmeth-yl)amines (IDB). The coordination geometry of the Cu(2+) ion is distorted octa-hedral with an N(6) ligand set. A three-dimensional framework structure is formed by means of hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions formed between imidazole and phenyl rings, and between phenyl and phenyl rings, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.690 (2)-3.977 (2) Å and interplanar spacings of 3.445 (2)-3.502 (2) Å.

Project description:The cation of the complex title salt, [Zn(C13H11N3)2(H2O)](NO3)2, lies about a twofold rotation axis, which passes through the Zn(II) atom and the O atom of the aqua ligand. The Zn(II) atom adopts a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by two N atoms in axial positions [angle = 166.24 (7)°], and two N and one O atom in the equatorial plane [range of angles: 115.17 (7)-122.42 (3)°]. The dihedral angle between the imidazole and aniline rings is 23.86 (5)°. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C2H8N2)2(H2O)2](C11H11N4O2S)2, contains one sulfamerazinate anion in a general position and one half-cation that is located on a center of inversion. The Cu(II) cation shows a strong Jahn-Teller distortion. It is coordinated by four N atoms of two ethyl-enedi-amine ligands in the basal plane and two O atoms at much longer distances in the axial positions in a bipyramidal coordination. In the crystal, the building blocks are connected by N-H?N, O-H?N, N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonding into a two-dimensional network parallel to (001).

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, contains a dimeric [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) dication with two five-coordinated Cu(II) ions linked by two methacrylate ions in a syn-syn bridging arrangement. The dication possesses pseudo-twofold rotational symmetry. The penta-coordination of each Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with two N donors from a phenanthroline ligand and two carboxyl-ate O atoms occupying basal sites and the apical position being occupied by a water mol-ecule. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked to form a three-dimensional framework by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 3.6039 (15), 3.5301 (15), 3.6015 (15), 3.6496 (15) and 3.6858 (15) Å].

The dinuclear copper complex is located on a crystallographic inversion centre. The Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry, with one O atom of a succinate dianion and three N atoms of a 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and a water O atom located at the apical site. Project description:The centrosymmetric dinuclear Cu(II) complex, [Cu(2)Cl(4)(C(24)H(21)N(5)O(4))(2)], was synthesized by the reaction of CuCl(2)·2H(2)O with the tripodal ligand 2,2'-[3-(1H-imid-azol-4-ylmeth-yl)-3-aza-pentane-1,5-di-yl]diphthalimide (L). Each of the Cu(II) ions is coordinated by two N atoms from the ligand, two bridging Cl atoms and one terminal Cl atom. The Cu(II) coordination can be best be described as a transition state between four- and five-coordination, since one of the bridging Cl atoms has a much longer Cu-Cl bond distance [2.7069 (13) Å] than the other [2.2630 (12) Å]. In addition, the Cu⋯Cu distance is 3.622 (1) Å. The three-dimensional structrure is generated by N-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.658 (4) and 4.020 (4) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(14)H(9)N(2)O(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion lies on a centre of symmetry and is four-coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms from two 2-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)benzoate ligands in a square-planar environment. The benzimidazol and benzyl rings form a dihedral angle of 42.8 (5)°. The mol-ecule contains two H-bonded carboxyl O acceptors and two H-bonded N-H donors in the benzimidazol groups, which inter-act with two symmetry-related uncoordinated water mol-ecules so that neighboring mol-ecular units are linked by (O-H)(water)⋯O(carbox-yl) hydrogen bonds with an R(2) (4)(8) graph-set motif, generating a helical chain in the a-axis direction. These chains are, in turn, inter-connected by (N-H)(benzimidazol)⋯O(water) hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.
