Poly[(dimethyl-formamide)(?(4)-2,2'-sulfanediyldibenzoato)nickel(II)].

ABSTRACT: The title centrosymmetric dinuclear Ni(II) complex, [Ni(C(14)H(8)O(4)S)(C(3)H(7)NO)](n), was prepared via reaction of Ni(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O and thio-salicylic acid, with H(2)O and dimethyl-formamide (DMF) as the mixed solvent. The central Ni(II) ion is five-coordinated by five O atoms from DMF and from the carboxyl-ate groups of the organic ligand. The symmetry-related coordination polyhedra inter-link into centrosymmetric dimeric units and these, in turn, are linked into infinite chains propagating parallel to [100].

Project description:The reaction of nickel salts and 4,4'-bipyridine with 2,2'-bi-imidazole (H(2)biim) yielded the title complex, [Ni(C(6)H(6)N(4))(3)](NO(3))(2)·C(3)H(7)NO. The Ni(II) atom is chelated by three H(2)biim ligands in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The two nitrate anions and one dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecule are not coordinated. The compound has a three-dimensional structure, formed by extensive hydrogen bonding between [Ni(H(2)biim)(3)](2+) cations and nitrate anions, each nitrate anion forming hydrogen bonds with an R(1) (2)(4) motif. The DMF molecule is disordered over three sets of sites, with occupancy ratios of 0.341?(16):0.350?(17):0.309?(19).

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))]·C(3)H(7)NO, the central Ni(II) atom is in a square-planar O(2)N(2) coordination environment. The planar Ni-salen moieties (r.m.s. deviation for the plane through the conjugated part of the Ni-salen group = 0.07 Å) form parallel stacks in the a-axis direction, with alternating Ni⋯Ni separations of 3.5339 (7) and 3.6165 (7) Å. In the crystal, there are weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions involving the dimethyl-formamide O and phenolate O atoms.

Project description:The title compound, {[NiCl(2)(C(5)H(6)N(2))(C(3)H(7)NO)]·C(3)H(7)NO}(n), is a two-dimensional polymer in which the Ni(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from two 3-amino-pyridine ligands, one O atom from a dimethyl-formamide (DMF) group, one terminal Cl and two bridging Cl atoms in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Ni(II) atoms are bridged by the 3-amino-pyridine ligands [Ni⋯N = 6.7048 (3) Å] and Cl(-) atoms [Ni⋯N = 3.5698 (3) Å], forming (4,4) two-dimensional nets. The DMF solvent mol-ecule and the non-bridged Cl(-) ions participate in N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds with the amino groups.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pd(2)Cl(4)(C(8)H(6)N(4))]·C(3)H(7)NO, the two Pd(2+) cations have a distorted square-planar coordination sphere and are bridged by a bis-bidentate 2,2'-bipyrimidine ligand. Two terminal chloride anions are also bonded to each of the Pd(2+) cations. The dinuclear complex and the dimethylformamide solvate molecule lie on the inter-section of a twofold rotation axis and a mirror plane, with disorder present in the solvate mol-ecule. There is a slight distortion from the square-planar metal geometry, as indicated by the bite angles of 81.77 (13)° and 91.63 (5)°. The C and O atoms of the solvent mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites of equal occupancy.

Project description:The title compound, (C(2)H(10)N(2))[Ni(C(16)H(14)N(2)O(2))](4)(ClO(4))(2)·C(3)H(7)NO, crystallizes with four Ni(salen) mol-ecules {salen is 2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate}, one ethyl-enediammonium cation (actually two half-cations, each located on a center of inversion), two perchlorate anions and one dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. Each Ni(II) cation in the Ni(salen) complex is four-coordinated by two imine N atoms and two phenolate O atoms from the tetra-dentate ligand. The Ni(salen) units form parallel slipped stacks with Ni?Ni separations of 3.4541?(4) and 3.6442?(6)?Å. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the ammonium H atoms and the perchlorate and salen O atoms, which generate a three-dimensional structure.

The Cd(II) ion is coordinated in a disorted square-pyramidal CdBr(2)N(2)S environment with one of the Br atoms in the apical site. In the crystal structure, the benzimidazole ring systems are involved in weak inter-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.606?(2) and 3.753?(2)?Å]. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The methyl H atoms of the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule are disordered about a mirror plane.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO·H(2)O, contains doubly charged centrosymmetric dinuclear oxalato-bridged copper(II) complex cations, perchlorate anions, and DMF and water solvate mol-ecules. In the complex cation, the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis-bidentate bridging mode to the Cu atoms. Each Cu atom has a distorted tetra-gonal-bipyramidal environment, being coordinated by two N atoms of the two chelating bipy ligands and two O atoms of the doubly deprotonated oxalate anion. Pairs of perchlorate anions and water mol-ecules are linked into recta-ngles by O-H⋯O bonds in which the perchlorate O atoms act as acceptors and the water mol-ecules as donors. Methyl groups of the DMF solvent molecule are disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.453 (7):0.547 (7), and the water molecule is half-occupied.

Project description:The title extended solid coordination compound, {[Fe(C(44)H(40)N(2)O(4)P(2))(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO}(n), was crystallized un-ex-pectedly from the reaction mixture containing the Trost ligand (1R,2R)-(+)-1,2-diamino-cyclo-hexane-N,N'-bis-(2'-di-phenyl-phosphinobenzo-yl) and Fe(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O in a 1:1 ratio in dimethyl-formamide (DMF) under reflux conditions. The polymeric complex is characterized by Fe(II) metal centers that are coordinated by two oxidized Trost ligands, each coordinated in a bidentate fashion in a square plane, along with two DMF mol-ecules above and below the plane [average Fe-O(DMF) = 2.086 (4) Å], forming an overall pseudo-octa-hedral geometry. The Trost ligand binds adjacent Fe(II) centers, each Fe(II) being bound through the O atom of one of the phosphine oxides [average Fe-O(PPh2) = 2.115 (4) Å] and the carbonyl O atom of the adjacent amide [average Fe-O(amide) = 2.192 (3) Å]. Disorder is observed in the co-solvated solvent: there are two DMF mol-ecules per Fe(II) centre, which were modeled as one DMF mol-ecule with complete occupancy and the other being modeled in two positions with equal occupancy. Disorder was also observed with one of the perchlorate anions, which was modeled in two positions with 0.75:0.25 occupancy.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(2)(CHO(2))(C(8)H(3)O(5))(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)](n), is a three-dimensional metal-organic framework, of which two independent Zn(II) atoms (denoted Zn1 and Zn2) are linked by both 4-oxidoisophthalate and formate bridging ligands. The 4-oxidoisophthalate ligands link two Zn1-type and three Zn2-type atoms, forming a corrugated sheet roughly parallel to the ac plane. The formate ions join two neighboring sheets along the b axis, forming a three-dimensional network. Two independent dimethylformamide ligands are coordinated to separate Zn(II) atoms and fill the voids provided by the framework. Both types of Zn(II) atoms have a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry.
