Bis(7-meth-oxy-1-methyl-4,9-dihydro-3H-β-carbolinium) tetra-chloridozincate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C(13)H(15)N(2)O)(2)[ZnCl(4)], also known as di(harmalinium) tetra-chloridozincate, the Zn(II) atom is in a distorted tetrahedral coordination of the chlorido ligands. In the cation, the meth-oxy and methyl groups are both coplanar with with rings to which they are attached [maximum deviations of 0.232 (4) and 0.259 (4) Å, respectively]. In the crystal, the alkaloid cations and metal complex anions inter-act by way of N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving each Cl atom, resulting in a network structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(13)H(17)N(2)O)(2)[ZnCl(4)]·2H(2)O, contains two tetra-hydro-harmine cations, one tetra-chloro-zincate(II) anion and two water mol-ecules. In the cations, the two 1H-indole ring systems are essentially planar, with maximum deviations of 0.016?(2) and 0.018?(2)?Å, and both tetra-hydro-pyridinium rings show a half-chair conformation. The Zn(II) complex anion has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O, N-H?Cl, O-H?O, O-H?Cl and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network. A ?-? inter-action with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.542?(14)?Å is also observed.

Project description:The title compound, (C(2)H(8)N)(C(5)H(12)NO)[ZnCl(4)], was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of ZnCl(2) with 4-methyl-morpholine in a dimethyl-formamide solution. The asymmetric unit is composed of half a [ZnCl(4)](2-) anion, half a 4-methyl-morpholin-4-ium cation and half a dimethyl-ammonium cation, all located on mirror planes parallel to ac. All the amine H atoms are involved in inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, building up an infinite chain parallel to the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, (C(8)H(12)NO)(C(16)H(18)NO(2))[ZnCl(4)]·H(2)O, was obtained as a by-product of the Zn(2+) and HCl catalyzed condensation of (2-meth-oxy-phen-yl)methanamine in water. Both cations feature an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, the components are linked by an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H?O, O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds (three of them bifurcated). Weak C-H?O intera-ctions also occur.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu2(C9H10NO2)4], is built of discrete centrosymmetric dimers. The Cu(II) atoms are each five coordinated by two deprotonated Schiff base ligands that are bonded differently to the metal atoms. Of the two phenolate O atoms, one is coordinated to one Cu(II) atom, whereas another bridges the two metal atoms. The basal plane of the square pyramid around Cu(II) atoms is formed by the imino N and phenolate O atoms of the bidentate and the monodentate/bidentate Schiff base ligands. The bridging phenolate oxygen occupies the apical position of the coordination sphere with a considerably longer Cu-O bond length. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules pack relative to each other in such a way that the Cu2O2 planes of adjacent dimers are orthogonal.

Three Cl atoms of the [ZnCl(4)](2-) tetra-hedron act as acceptors in N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The hydrogen bonds, both of which are bifurcated, lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network. Within the network, inter-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.5911?(7)?Å arrange the 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridinium cations into anti-parallel dimers.
