ABSTRACT: In the binuclear centrosymmetric title compound, [Ag(2)(NCS)(2)(C(21)H(21)P)(4)]·0.35H(2)O, a pseudo-polymorph of [Ag(2)(NCS)(2)(C(21)H(21)P)(4)]·2CH(3)CN, the Ag atom is coordinated by two phosphine ligands and two bridging thio-cyanate ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral configuration. The crystal structure exhibits inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Ag(2)(NCS)(2)(C(14)H(38)B(10)P(2))(2)], was synthesized by the reaction of 1,2-bis-(diiso-propyl-phos-phan-yl)-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodeca-borane with AgSCN. The diisopropyl-phosphanyl-closo-carborane ligand is coordinated in a bidentate manner to the Ag(I) atom through the two P atoms. The coordination of the Ag(I) atom is distorted tetra-hedral, in which two vertices are formed by the P atoms of the chelating diphosphine ligand, and the other two are occupied by the S and N atoms of the two bridging thio-cyanate anions, leading to a centrosymmetric binuclear complex. The distance between the two C atoms in the carborane skeleton is 1.851?(6)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, [AgCd(NCS)(3)(C(22)H(17)N(3))](n), is a hetero-atom ribbon coordination polymer. The central Cd atom is chelated by the 4'-p-tolyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand and is coordinated by the N atoms of three thio-cyanate ions in an octa-hedral geometry whereas the Ag atom is coordinated by the four S atoms of four thio-cyanate ions in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Of the three thio-cyanate ions, one functions in a ?(2)-bridging mode and two in a ?(3)-bridging mode. The ribbon coordination polymer propagates along the a-axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(2)(NCS)(4)(C(8)H(8)N(2))(4)], is a centrosymmetric dinuclear cadmium(II) complex in which each two metal ions are linked by a pair of thio-cyanate N:S-bridges. Two 2-methyl-benzimidazole N-atom donors and one terminal thio-cyanate N atom complete a highly distorted square-pyramidal geometry around the Cd atom. In the crystal structure, two N-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions occur, resulting in a three-dimensional polymeric structure. The apical 2-methyl-benzimidazole ring and its symmetry-related counterpart are arranged in an anti-parallel manner with a centroid-centroid separation of 3.6050?(14)?Å, indicative of a ?-? inter-action.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(NCS)2(C6H6N2O)2(H2O)2], the Ni(II) ion is located on an inversion center and is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by two N atoms from two nicotinamide ligands and two water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane, and two N atoms from two thio-cyanate anions in the axial positions, all acting as monodentate ligands. In the crystal, weak N-H?S hydrogen bonds between the amino groups and the thio-cyanate anions form an R 4 (2)(8) motif. The complex mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O, O-H?S, and N-H?S hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. The asymmetric unit consists of one Fe(II) cation, located on a center of inversion, as well as one protonated (E)-4,4'-(ethene-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium dication and two thio-cyanate anions in general positions. The crystal structure consists of Fe-(NCS)(2)-Fe chains extending along the a axis, in which two further thio-cyanate anions are only terminally bonded via nitro-gen. Non-coordinating (E)-4,4'-(ethene-1,2-di-yl)dipyrid-inium cations are found between the chains.

Both amine H atoms are involved in N-H?S hydrogen bonding, resulting in the formation of layers of inter-linked mol-ecules parallel to the ab plane, which are further held together by weak ?-? inter-actions between adjacent complexes, involving one ring of each dipyridyl-amine unit [centroid-centroid distance = 3.777?(4)?Å], forming a three-dimensional assembly.

Project description:In the title polymeric complex, [Co(NCS)(2){SC(NH(2))(2)}(2)](n), the asymmetric unit comprises a Co(II) ion, which is situated on an inversion centre, an N-bound thio-cyanate anion and a ?(2)-bridging thio-urea mol-ecule. The Co(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral fashion within an N(2)S(4) donor set. The bridging thio-urea ligands link Co(II) ions into a polymeric chain extending along [100]. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds, which generate S(6) ring motifs. The crystal packing is stabilized by N-H?S inter-actions, which connect the chains into a three-dimensional architecture.
