ABSTRACT: The title compound, [AgCd(NCS)(3)(C(22)H(17)N(3))](n), is a hetero-atom ribbon coordination polymer. The central Cd atom is chelated by the 4'-p-tolyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand and is coordinated by the N atoms of three thio-cyanate ions in an octa-hedral geometry whereas the Ag atom is coordinated by the four S atoms of four thio-cyanate ions in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Of the three thio-cyanate ions, one functions in a ?(2)-bridging mode and two in a ?(3)-bridging mode. The ribbon coordination polymer propagates along the a-axis.

The title compound, [AgCd(NCS)(3)(C(22)H(17)N(3))](n), is a hetero-atom ribbon coordination polymer. The central Cd atom is chelated by the 4'-p-tolyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand and is coordinated by the N atoms of three thio-cyanate ions in an octa-hedral geometry whereas the Ag atom is coordinated by the four S atoms of four thio-cyanate ions in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Project description:Reaction of 4'-phenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (phtpy), copper acetate hydrate and ammonium thio-cyanate under solvothermal conditions led to the formation of the title compound, {[Cu(C(21)H(15)N(3))(2)][Cu(2)(NCS)(4)]}(n). The structure is composed of discrete [Cu(phtpy)(2)](2+) cations and polymeric anionic {[Cu(SCN)(2)](-)} chains propagating along [010]. The central Cu(2+) ion in the cation is coordinated by two tridentate chelating phtpy ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In each of the two crystallographically independent centrosymmetric anions, the Cu(I) atoms are bridged in a 1,3-?(2)-bridging mode by two S and two N atoms, resulting in a distorted tetrahedral CuN(2)S(2) coordination. The [Cu(phtpy)(2)](2+) cations are fixed between these polymers by inter-molecular C-H?S hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(2)(NCS)(4)(C(8)H(8)N(2))(4)], is a centrosymmetric dinuclear cadmium(II) complex in which each two metal ions are linked by a pair of thio-cyanate N:S-bridges. Two 2-methyl-benzimidazole N-atom donors and one terminal thio-cyanate N atom complete a highly distorted square-pyramidal geometry around the Cd atom. In the crystal structure, two N-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions occur, resulting in a three-dimensional polymeric structure. The apical 2-methyl-benzimidazole ring and its symmetry-related counterpart are arranged in an anti-parallel manner with a centroid-centroid separation of 3.6050?(14)?Å, indicative of a ?-? inter-action.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of title compound, [Cu(NCS)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), contains a bis-(2,2'-bipyridine)(isothio-cyanato)copper(II) cation and a perchlorate anion. In the cation, the Cu(2+) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecules and an N atom from an isothio-cyanate anion, resulting in a distorted CuN(5) pyramidal configuration. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, and weak π-π inter-actions between 2,2'-bipyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.908 (4) Å]. The perchlorate counteranion is disordered over two positions in a 0.66:0.34 ratio.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the polymeric title compound, [Mn(NCS)2(C10H8N2)] n , the Mn(II) cations are coordinated by one chelating 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand and four thio-cyanate anions (two N- and two S-coordinating), forming a distorted [MnN4S2] octa-hedron. The asymmetric unit consists of one manganese cation located on a twofold rotation axis and half of a 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand, the other half being generated by the same twofold rotation axis, as well as one thio-cyanate anion in a general position. The Mn(II) cations are linked by two pairs of ?1,3-bridging thio-cyanate ligands into chains along the c axis; because the N atoms of the 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands, as well as the N and the S atoms of the thio-cyanate anions, are each cis-coordinating, these chains show a zigzag arrangement.

Project description:In the title polymeric complex, [Co(NCS)(2){SC(NH(2))(2)}(2)](n), the asymmetric unit comprises a Co(II) ion, which is situated on an inversion centre, an N-bound thio-cyanate anion and a ?(2)-bridging thio-urea mol-ecule. The Co(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral fashion within an N(2)S(4) donor set. The bridging thio-urea ligands link Co(II) ions into a polymeric chain extending along [100]. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds, which generate S(6) ring motifs. The crystal packing is stabilized by N-H?S inter-actions, which connect the chains into a three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(NCS)(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], has been obtained from the decomposition reaction of dithio-oxamide in a dimethyl-formamide solution containing 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and Cd(NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O. Its crystal structure is formed by monuclear Cd(II) entities in which the metal atom is sited on a twofold rotation axis. The Cd(II) atom is six-coordinated in the form of a distorted octa-hedron by two chelating phenanthroline mol-ecules and two thio-cyanate anions coordinated through their N atoms. In the crystal, C-H?N hydrogen bonds are established between the phenanthroline and thio-cyanate ligands of neighbouring complexes.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Cd(NCS)(2)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(4)], consists of isolated mol-ecules of [Cd(NCS)(2)(Eim)(4)] (Eim = 1-ethyl-imidazole), which contain a compressed octa-hedral CdN(6) chromophore. The NCS(-) anions are trans and four N atoms from the 1-ethyl-imidazole ligands define the equatorial plane. The mean Cd-N(Eim) and Cd-N(NCS) distances are 2.334?(4) and 2.379?(5)?Å, respectively. Weak C-H?N inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:In the title salt, [Cu(NCS)(C(6)H(6)N(4))(2)]Cl, the Cu(II) atom adopts a five-coordinated square-pyramidal geometry consisting of an N atom from a thio-cyanate anion and four N atoms from two chealting biimidazole ligands. The thio-cyanate ligand occupies the axial position and is, like the Cu(II) centre, located on a mirror plane. The cation and anion are linked into a linear chain by N-H?S and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds.
