Tetra-kis{?(3)-2-[(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)amino]-ethano-lato}tetra-kis-[chloridonickel(II)] methanol solvate.

ABSTRACT: The complex mol-ecule of the title compound, [Ni(4)(C(4)H(10)NO(2))(4)Cl(4)]·CH(3)OH, consists of a cubane-like {Ni(4)O(4)} core in which each nickel(II) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by one N and four O atoms of three mono-deprotonated diethano-lamine ligands and by a chloride anion. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?Cl bonds. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules and methanol solvent mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by N-H?Cl, N-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The centrosymmetric mol-ecular structure of the complex is based on a tetra-nuclear {Mn(2)Cr(2)(?-O)(6)} core. The tetra-nuclear complex mol-ecule and the two uncoordinated dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, while the two other mol-ecules of dimethyl-formamide do not participate in hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(4)(C(2)F(3)O(2))(3)(C(4)H(10)NO)(3)Cl(OH)]·C(4)H(8)O or [Cu(4)(TFA)(3)(dmae)(3)Cl(OH)]·THF (dmae is dimeth-yl-amino-ethano-late, TFA is trifluoro-acetate and THF is tetra-hydro-furan), has an approximate mol-ecular threefold symmetry with three equivalent {Cu(dmae)(TFA)} units bridging between a Cu-Cl and a hydroxide unit, with the latter two lying on the mol-ecular threefold axis. However, in the solid state, the tetranuclear complex has C(i) symmetry. The Cu atom bonded to the Cl atom has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The other three Cu atoms have distorted square-pyramidal geometries with an NO(4) coordination environment. The bonds within the CuNO(3) base of the pyramid range from 1.953?(2) to 2.033?(3)?Å, while the apical Cu-O bonds are significantly longer, ranging from 2.286?(2) to 2.377?(2)?Å. The square-pyramidal geometries are augmented by weak inter-actions towards a sixth O atom, forming a highly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment [long Cu-O distances = 2.712?(2)-2.824?(2)?Å]. The hydroxide group is hydrogen bonded to the tetra-hydro-furan solvent mol-ecule. One of the -CF(3) groups shows minor disorder over two positions, with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.894?(4):0.106?(5).

Project description:In the title bicyclic trinuclear pyrazolate amino-alcohol complex, [Cu3(C5H7N2)2(C6H14NO3)2]Br2·1.5H2O, the central Cu atom lies on a center of symmetry and is involved in the formation of two five-membered rings. It has a coordination number of 4, is in a distorted tetra-hedral environment and is connected by the bridging oxygen atoms of the deprotonated OH groups of different amino-alcohol groups, and by the N atoms of deprotonated di-methyl-pyrazole ligands. The peripheral Cu atom is in a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment formed by the nitro-gen atom of the deprotonated bridging di-methyl-pyrazole unit, the bridging oxygen atom of the deprotonated OH group, two oxygen atoms of the protonated hy-droxy groups and the nitro-gen atom of tri-ethano-lamine. One of the C atoms and the Br- anion were found to be disordered over two positions with occupancy factors of 0.808 (9):0.192 (9) and 0.922 (3):0.078 (3), respectively.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title tetra-nuclear niobium(V) compound, [Nb(4)(C(2)H(5)O)(8)(C(5)H(7)O(2))(4)O(4)], contains two Nb(V) atoms, two bridging O atoms, two acetyl-acetonate and four ethano-late ligands. Each Nb(V) atom is six-coordinated by the bridging O atoms, two ethano-late and one chelating acetyl-acetonate ligands. The Nb-O distances vary between 1.817?(2) and 2.201?(2)?Å and the O-Nb-O angles vary between 78.88?(8) and 102.78?(9)°, illustrating the significant distortion from ideal ocahedral geometry. The rest of the tetra-nuclear unit is generated through an inversion centre. The C atoms of two of the ethano-late mol-ecules are disordered over two sites [occupancy ratio 0.601?(12):0.399?(12)].

In the crystal, the pyridine N-oxide derivative is located about a fourfold rotoinversion axis and exhibits S 4 symmetry along the c axis. An inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond is observed between the O atom of the pyridine N-oxide and the OH group of the methanol. An inter-molecular C-H⋯O bond is also observed between adjacent pyridine N-oxide rings.

Project description:The title cluster, [Cu4(C11H12N2O6)4], was obtained from the Cu(0)-FeCl2·4H2O-H4 L-Et3N-DMF reaction system (in air), where H4 L is 2-hy-droxy-methyl-2{[(2-hy-droxy-3-nitro-phen-yl)methyl-idene]amino}-propane-1,3-diol and DMF is di-methyl-formamide. The asymmetric unit consists of one Cu(2+) ion and one dianionic ligand; a -4 symmetry element generates the cluster, which contains a {Cu4O4} cubane-like core. The metal ion has an elongated square-based pyramidal CuNO4 coordination geometry with the N atom in a basal site. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond is observed. The solvent mol-ecules were found to be highly disordered and their contribution to the scattering was removed with the SQUEEZE procedure in PLATON [Spek (2009 ▶). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155], which indicated a solvent cavity of volume 3131 Å(3) containing approximately 749 electrons. These solvent molecules are not considered in the given chemical formula.
