Bis{?(2)-2-[(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)(meth-yl)amino]-ethano-lato}bis-(?(3)-N-methyl-2,2'-aza-nediyldiethano-lato)tetra-kis-(thio-cyan-atato-?N)dichromium(III)dimanganese(II) dimethyl-formamide tetra-solvate.

ABSTRACT: The heterometallic title complex, [Cr(2)Mn(2)(C(5)H(11)NO(2))(2)(C(5)H(12)NO(2))(2)(NCS)(4)]·4C(3)H(7)NO, was prepared using manganese powder, Reineckes salt, ammonium thio-cyanate and a non-aqueous solution of N-methyl-diethano-lamine in air. The centrosymmetric mol-ecular structure of the complex is based on a tetra-nuclear {Mn(2)Cr(2)(?-O)(6)} core. The tetra-nuclear complex mol-ecule and the two uncoordinated dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, while the two other mol-ecules of dimethyl-formamide do not participate in hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The complex mol-ecule of the title compound, [Ni(4)(C(4)H(10)NO(2))(4)Cl(4)]·CH(3)OH, consists of a cubane-like {Ni(4)O(4)} core in which each nickel(II) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by one N and four O atoms of three mono-deprotonated diethano-lamine ligands and by a chloride anion. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H⋯Cl bonds. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules and methanol solvent mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)Br(2)(C(7)H(8)NO)(2)], was synthesized by reaction of CuBr(2) with 2-(pyridin-2-yl)ethanol (hep-H) in methanol. The asymmetric unit consists of one hep ligand and a CuBr unit. The Cu(2+) ion is thereby coordinated by the N atom and the deprotonated hydroxy O atom in a distorted square-planar geometry that is completed by another O atom. The latter acts as bridging ligand towards the second, symmetry-equivalent, Cu atom, thus generating a centrosymmetric dimeric unit, with the inversion centre halfway between the Cu atoms. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title tetra-nuclear niobium(V) compound, [Nb(4)(C(2)H(5)O)(8)(C(5)H(7)O(2))(4)O(4)], contains two Nb(V) atoms, two bridging O atoms, two acetyl-acetonate and four ethano-late ligands. Each Nb(V) atom is six-coordinated by the bridging O atoms, two ethano-late and one chelating acetyl-acetonate ligands. The Nb-O distances vary between 1.817?(2) and 2.201?(2)?Å and the O-Nb-O angles vary between 78.88?(8) and 102.78?(9)°, illustrating the significant distortion from ideal ocahedral geometry. The rest of the tetra-nuclear unit is generated through an inversion centre. The C atoms of two of the ethano-late mol-ecules are disordered over two sites [occupancy ratio 0.601?(12):0.399?(12)].

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(4)(C(2)F(3)O(2))(3)(C(4)H(10)NO)(3)Cl(OH)]·C(4)H(8)O or [Cu(4)(TFA)(3)(dmae)(3)Cl(OH)]·THF (dmae is dimeth-yl-amino-ethano-late, TFA is trifluoro-acetate and THF is tetra-hydro-furan), has an approximate mol-ecular threefold symmetry with three equivalent {Cu(dmae)(TFA)} units bridging between a Cu-Cl and a hydroxide unit, with the latter two lying on the mol-ecular threefold axis. However, in the solid state, the tetranuclear complex has C(i) symmetry. The Cu atom bonded to the Cl atom has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The other three Cu atoms have distorted square-pyramidal geometries with an NO(4) coordination environment. The bonds within the CuNO(3) base of the pyramid range from 1.953?(2) to 2.033?(3)?Å, while the apical Cu-O bonds are significantly longer, ranging from 2.286?(2) to 2.377?(2)?Å. The square-pyramidal geometries are augmented by weak inter-actions towards a sixth O atom, forming a highly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment [long Cu-O distances = 2.712?(2)-2.824?(2)?Å]. The hydroxide group is hydrogen bonded to the tetra-hydro-furan solvent mol-ecule. One of the -CF(3) groups shows minor disorder over two positions, with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.894?(4):0.106?(5).

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(C(2)H(5)O)(2)(C(44)H(28)N(4))]PF(6), was synthesized from manganese(III) 2,4-penta-nedionate and 5,10,15,20-tetra-phenyl-calix[4]pyrrole by a hydro-thermal reaction. The Mn(III) atom is located on an inversion centre and the asymmetric unit comprises one half-formula unit. The Mn(III) ion is hexa-coordinated by four N atoms from one 5,10,15,20-tetra-phenyl-calix[4]pyrrole ligand and two O atoms from two deprotonated ethanol mol-ecules. The equatorially located atoms (the Mn and four N atoms) are planar. The dihedral angles between the planes of the phenyl rings and the equatorial plane are 53.3 (2) and 81.8 (2)°. One hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion balances the charge.

Project description:The title compound, [Pd(4)(CH(2))(2)Cl(4)(C(28)H(40)P(2))(2)]·5C(4)H(8)O, possesses a tetra-nuclear palladium core with four bridging chlorido ligands and two bridging methyl-ene units, as well as two bridging anthracene-based bis-phosphine ligands. This tetra-nuclear complex can be considered as being composed of two ?-chlorido-bridged LPd(2) units. The structural motif of these LPd(2) units shows two doubly bridged palladium centers between the P atoms of the bis-phosphine ligand. One of these bridges is a ?-Cl atom, the other a ?-methyl-ene group. The coordination environment around each palladium center is essentially square planar. We ascribe the oxidation state +II to the palladium centers and do not assume Pd-Pd bonds [shortest distances 2.8110?(5) and 2.8109?(6)?Å]. Co-crystallized with the palladium complex we found five non-coordinating tetra-hydro-furan solvent mol-ecules, one of which is disordered over two positions in a 0.429?(9):0.571?(8) ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound {systematic name: cis-dichloridobis[(3,7-dimethylbicyclo-[3.3.1]non-1-ylmeth-yl)-amine-κN]platinum(II) N,N-dimethyl-formamide solvate}, [PtCl(2)(C(11)H(19)N)(2)]·C(3)H(7)NO, consists of two metrically similar Pt complexes and two dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecules. Each Pt(II) center is coordinated by the amine groups of two (1-adamantylmeth-yl)amine ligands and two Cl atoms in a cis-square-planar arrangement. The Pt(II) centers lie slightly outside [0.031 (4) and 0.038 (4) Å] the coordination planes. The N-Pt-N and Cl-Pt-Cl angles [92.1 (4)-92.30 (11)°] are slightly more open than the N-Pt-Cl angles [87.3 (3)-88.3 (3)°]. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl inter-molecular hydrogen bonds are observed, forming two discrete pairs of complexes and solvent mol-ecules.

The Zn(II) atoms are connected by the bridging ligands into a layer parallel to (101). O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the layers and the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecules. π-π inter-actions between the pyridine and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7428 (17) and 3.7619 (17) Å] and intra-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are also present.
