ABSTRACT: In the title polymeric complex, [Cd(C(5)H(3)N(6))(C(2)O(4))(0.5)(H(2)O)](n), the Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four O atoms and three N atoms from two 5-(pyrazin-2-yl)tetra-zolate ligands, two oxalate ligands and one water mol-ecule, displaying a distorted monocapped octa-hedral geometry. The bridging ligands link metal centres, forming a three-dimensional network which is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title coordination polymer, [Zn(C(8)H(4)N(4)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), was prepared by the hydro-thermal reaction of zinc nitrate and 2-(1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)benzoic acid. Two types of coordinated zinc cations exist in the structure. One is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two O and two N from two ligands, the other is octa-hedrally coordinated by two N and two O from two ligands at equatorial sites and by two O atoms of water mol-ecules at axial sites, resulting in a two-dimensional framework. The crystal structure is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C5H3N6)2(H2O)2]·2C5H3N3, is a 1:2 co-crystal between the mononuclear complex di-aqua-bis-[5-(pyrazin-2-yl)tetra-zolato]copper(II) and the reagent pyrazine-2-carbo-nitrile which was used in the synthesis. The Cu(II) atom is located on an inversion centre and has a distorted octa-hedral [4 + 2]-coordination environment formed by four N atoms of two chelating bidentate 5-(pyrazin-2-yl)tetra-zolate ligands at shorter distances and two water O atoms at longer distances. The Cu(II) complex molecules are held together by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.6139 (8) Å], forming layers parallel to (100). These layers alternate with layers of pyrazine-2-car-bo-nitrile mol-ecules and both are held together via C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and further π-π stacking inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(C(12)H(9)N(2)O(2)S)(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, has been synthesized with a flexible asymmetrical bridging ligand, 4-(pyrazin-2-ylsulfanylmeth-yl)benzoic acid (Hpztmb). The Mn(II) ion exhibits a centrosymmetric octa-hedral geometry involving two carboxyl-ate O atoms of two different pztmb ligands and four O atoms of four coordinated water mol-ecules. The packing shows a three-dimensional supra-molecular network via O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.884?(8) and 4.034?(8)?Å] between the benzene ring of one pztmb anion and the pyrazine ring of an adjacent anion.

Project description:In the title complex, [BaCd(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), the Ba(II) atoms, located on crystallographic twofold axes, adopt slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination geometries, while the Cd(II) atoms, which lie on crystallographic centres of symmetry, have a distorted octa-hedral coordination. Each malonate dianion binds two different Cd(II) atoms and two different Ba(II) atoms. This connectivity generates alternating layers along [100] in the structure, with one type containing Cd(II) cations and malonate dianions, while the other is primarily composed of Ba(II) ions and coordinated water mol-ecules. The water mol-ecules also participate in extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title compound, {[Nd(2)(C(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), was synthesized hydro-thermally in the presence of bis-(carb-oxy-ethyl-germanium) sesquioxide. It is isostructural with the corresponding Pr compound [Yang et al. (2009). Acta Cryst. E65, m1152-m1153]. The Nd(3+) cation is nine-coordinated and its coordination polyhedron can be described as a distorted tricapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(3+) ions are connected by two O atoms from two oxalate ions to give a dinuclear Nd(2) unit. The unit is further linked to four others via four oxalate ions yielding a layerparallel to (0-11). The linkages between the layers by neighbouring oxalate anions lead to a three-dimensional framework with channels along the c axis. The coordinating and free water mol-ecules are located in the channels and make contact with each other and the host framework by weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the polymeric title compound, {[Cd(C(8)H(12)N(6))(H(2)O)(4)]SO(4)}(n), the Cd(II) atom is located on an inversion center and coordinated by four water mol-ecules and two 1,4-bis-(1,2,4-triazol-yl)butane ligands in a distorted CdO(4)N(2) octa-hedral geometry. The 1,4-bis-(1,2,4-triazol-yl)butane ligand is centrosymmetric, the mid-point of the central C-C bond being located on an inversion center. It links adjacent water-coordinated metal atoms into polymeric chains running along the c axis. Adjacent chains are linked by O-H?N hydrogen bonds. The S atom of the sulfate anion is located on a twofold rotation axis, thus the sulfate anion is equally disordered over two sites. The sulfate anion links with the polymeric chains via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Ba(C5HN2O6)(C2O4)0.5(H2O)2] n , the tenfold coordination of the Ba centre consists of four O atoms from the two 4-nitro-2,5,6-trioxo-1,2,5,6-tetra-hydro-pyridin-3-olate (L) anions, three O atoms of two oxalate anions and three water mol-ecules. The Ba-O bond lengths fall in the range 2.698?(3)-2.978?(3)?Å. The L ligand chelates two Ba atoms related by a screw axis, leading to formation of fused five- and six-membered chelate rings. Due to the bridging function of the ligands and water mol-ecules, the complex monomers are connected into polymeric two-dimensional layers parallel to the bc plane. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link these layers into a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.
